Jane's video on Google+
Peter, I may be 'blind' but I don't see any where on the Knowledge Base link that says YouTube Videos. If it is there and I can't see it then maybe it should be more prominent. From what I see it looks like another Wiki, I would much rather watch a video than read, I find watching someone 'do it' a ...

Google Hangout Anyone?
Jane,
Yes more than happy to do one. I sometimes run the monthly Guild of One-Name Studies UK one, we always record them as on-air so that they can be watched later on YouTube by anyone who missed the actual Hangout.
Let me know when I have added you to one of my circles on G+.

Birth Day v. Birth Registration Date
The way I do it is to enter it as an about date. I record the quarter page etc as a citation for the birth event.
It may not be the 'best' way and others may do it differently.
I suspect there will not be a right or wrong answer here BUT be consistent.

Easy way to delete last records added?
DOH [oops][oops][oops] Thanks Mike that is where it is.
Seems a crazy thing to do why doesn't it store it in the project folder rather than a folder I never use?

Easy way to delete last records added?
@PeterR I looked at that in the Knowledge Base BUT if you are relatively new to FH it doesn't exactly help. It would be nice if there was a proper worked example. @tatewise I do a full back-up every time in FH. I used the FH in-built function (as mentioned by you) to do a restore and was told by the...

Easy way to delete last records added?
Ignore this unless you want to answer.
I decided to take the bull by the horns and manually copy the files from the backup to the project folder using windows explorer and that has worked fine.
I wonder why the restore option isn't working in my install maybe that would be a better question.

Easy way to delete last records added?
I made a mistake adding a large number of records merging 2 gedcoms together. I did backup before I did the merge but restore doesn't seem to work and it isn't deleting the new records. Is there an easy way of deleting all records with a record number greater than a certain number? I have tried a cu...

Graham, No I haven't but both my father and grandfather were in the RE in WW2 so I look forward to hearing how you get on. I have just received their military records from the MOD, after waiting 15 months, and like you was disappointed in the lack of detail they contained. Unlike my father in-law's ...

Diagrams in Powerpoint presentation
BMP are not ideal as a source format for these type of images. TIFF will give you the best result BUT they will be huge files. I suspect that Powerpoint is resizing your images which isn't helping. Have a look at this article on Microsoft's website for information on sizing your images http://tinyur...

Thanks for your replies. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something that AS could do automatically.
I had already followed your suggested route Nick.

AS problem with father in marriage entry
I may have a particular unusual set of circumstances and accept that a general purpose tool may not be able to cope. I thought, however, that I would ask the question anyway. I have a relative, Georgina, who was illegitimate. I have never been able to trace a possible father and she was brought up b...

Paul,
Just move your Family Historian window closer to the left side of your screen so there is insufficient room for the sub-menu and it it will then appear on the right (standard windows behaviour).

I have but I don't see any heading for scoring about birth place just for ibirth. Am I missing something? Surely date and location should be regarded as 2 separate entities.

Mike Is the plug-in supposed to look at places as well as names? If it is then it doesn't seem to be as I am getting Middlesex births being shown as duplicates with Lincolnshire births for instance with a score of ~12. This latest version seems to be showing a lot more possibles with scores of as lo...

You will need to get some screen recording software.
Sorry I have no specific recommendations as to free ones I use Camtasia Studio but it is a bit expensive for a one-off like this requirement.
