Many thanks Lorna. Like you one of the first things I did in v7 was to select that option. Then when I went to find it again I skipped "Enable One-Click Diagram Display from Toolbar" because that title did not immediately ring a bell.

I have forgotten how to bypass the Select Diagram Root dialogue. In other words I like to select the root of a new diagram by selecting the individual in an existing diagram.

I would suggest using "Has Flag" in Queries. Fast and effective to display a list of people that have been assigned a particular flag.

I use the In Progress flag for any person that is not absolutely proven to belong to a tree. The In Progress flag box is customised to show a heavy dotted outline, and the men at work icon clearly indicates work in progress. Use the Has Flag query to create a table of people that are in progress.

I use Adblock Plus on Chrome, Firefox and Edge. And the Ghostery extension on Chrome.

I sometimes like the Ahnentafel numbers for each person to display in diagrams.

I periodically upload a Family Historian GEDCOM to Ancestry, and use the Ancestry app on my smartphone to view.

An alternative is to use Windows key + G which comes free with Windows 10.
