Re: Death date records - which should I believe?
The date on the gravestone would probably have been suppied by relatives - suggesting false recollection or poor communication to the stone mason.

Re: Family History Multi-Project Person Index
Actually I had read the whole of this thread. I have 44 Family Historian projects mainly because I help lots of unrelated people, have one-name studies, and a one-place study. Yes, quick and dirty trees are often useful too. I only made my comment because it is common for folks not to realise that f...

Re: Family History Multi-Project Person Index
Going back to basics, I am wondering why you are using multiple projects? One large project is most frequently recommended so that everyone is in one place, therefore only one Records Window.

I upload the PDFs to the Wordpress gallery, then insert this button link in the Wordpress page (in this example)
http://wordpress.xxxxxxxxx.org.uk/wp-co ... xxxxxx.pdf
For the centre Preview column I use the Wordpress plugin "WP Image Zoom".

Actually the bare bones basics of FH4 and FH7 are the same/similar. If you have not gone into the depths of FH4 I suggest that it might not be such a steep learning curve. Re: Entering un-related people in census?
I would add that family member just as you would all the other family members in the household. The easiest method is to record that family member in FH first where he/she belongs in the family tree. The fact that he/she was from a different household and a servant at the time is less important than...

Re: Best way to index my collection of church register images
I have a simplistic approach to this issue. Within the Media folder for each FH project I have a subfolder BMDs with subfolders Banns Baptism Birth Burial Death and Marriage. For birth certificates and baptism images my file naming convention is 1852 Joe-Joseph Bloggs & Sarah Smith. For death certif...
