Hi Jane,
I use your FH Conversion but always use the Split Tree Helper first to remove any unwanted data from a copy of my main Gedcom. So the only option I would need is to convert and resize images.

Plugin: Search and Replace Text - Skip?
As an aside Jane as you asked about testing the plugin rating and commenting. I posted a rating and comment, hit submit, the page refreshed with the comment but without the rating. I hit F5 to refresh and ended up with 2 identical comments. The rating was shown this time though. I should probabl...

Plugin: Search and Replace Text - Skip?
That change works fine now Jane. I can see the plugin being really useful to me. [smile]

Plugin: Search and Replace Text - Skip?
When prompting whether to replace text, you get the buttons 'OK' and 'Cancel'. Is it possible to have a 'Skip' button so that you can keep some searches and change others?

FH4 Memory Usage
I tried a few options and it's just directly related to the number of pictures shown in the diagram. I excluded a lot of pictures and the memory usage of FH went down to 1GB from 1.8GB.

FH4 Memory Usage
Hi, I'm using the latest patched FH4 on Windows 7 (64bit). I have many (2000+) multimedia files and I'm coming across quite a few errors when trying to display pictures in FH. These include mainly 'Unable to load object. Out of memory'. I noticed that in Windows Task Manager FH is using 1.9GB of my ...

Linking Image to Census Event
Hi, I don't wish to link to existing events. When I create a new census entry using AS method 1, it creates the multimedia entry, links a new source record to the multimedia and links the source to the census event. I would like to link the multimedia directly to the census event. I'll try method 2 ...

Linking Image to Census Event
Thanks for the quick reply. The forum entry I refer to was back in May '09. ' The next entirely new version that will be released later this year will have support for event images (I've already written that bit!) but you'll have to wait for that I'm afraid. ' I must have misunderstood your meaning....

Linking Image to Census Event
Hi Nick, First, thank you for a super program. I've only been using it for a couple of hours but I'm sure it will be a permanent feature on my start menu from now on. I read on the Gedcom Census forum that you are working on attaching images to events as an option. Is there an option for linking a...

Record Window Background Colour
Ok, this is a windows option itself, not FH, but I haven't yet found the right combination of colours.

Record Window Background Colour
Hi, Is there any way to change the record window background colour? The reason I ask is that when I am in the properties dialog with the record window shown in the background, I cannot see the individual record I am on highlighted. When in the record window, the record is highlighted blue, but whe...

Unable to Save in FH
Hi,
Solved the problem! There was something wrong with the way that Windows was associating .ged files with FH. Under File Types in Explorer, I reset the default and saving works ok now. I think that FH automatically associated .ged and I may have done it manually also, causing a problem.

Unable to Save in FH
The file I am using is not a shortcut. I have just noticed something else: If I click on the file to open FH, i.e. the non-working option, and then choose exit, the Save popup appears but asks if I want to save my filename, but it has appended a double quote ('). For example, my file is called 'My F...

Unable to Save in FH
No, I didn't install the demo. I saw an excellent review of FH in a computer magazine and went straight out and bought it! So far I'm very pleased with it.

Unable to Save in FH
Hi, I recently bought FH 2.1 and upgraded to 2.2. I have a GEDCOM file that I exported from another application and this works fine in FH, but I have noticed the following. I have associated .GED files with FH in Windows XP. If I double click my .GED file, FH opens with the file, but I am unable to...

Unable to load 1901 tiffs
Hi Mike, It looks like the 1901 site uses compressed tiffs in LZW format and I have the same problem with FH displaying these. I think the Scottish site doesn't use compression. You will need to save the tiffs in a different format. I use tiffs compressed in ZIP format. I'm not sure what image softw...
