Family Historian User Group

I have checked my display settings. They were identical to those posted by ColeValleyGirl, apart from the Toolbar which was set at 'Medium' rather than 'Big'. I have tried changing the settings but it makes no difference.

The toolbar displays like this 99% of the time. It was only by accident that we discovered the work round. I never saw this with V6.

Family Historian is V7.02 and Windows 10 Home build 20H2.

Many thanks for the advice. The V5 Plugin 'Check and Repair Media Links' did exactly what was required. 332 clicks was a lot quicker than deleting them all and starting again! Well done Jane for a brilliant piece of software.

I've looked at the file reference paths and it seems that the majority are absolute rather than relative and will probably therefore be broken!

Is there a simple way to turn an absolute link to a relative link?

I have cracked it.  I was using the 'picture note' box at the top rather than the 'unidentified note' box at the bottom.

Thanks for your help. I am wading in unfamiliar waters. My query was INDI.CENS[year=1841]. I can see how to construct FAM.CENS[year=1841]. The couples come up OK but I now see that you can only attach a flag to an individual. Am I going to have to sort this out the long way?

I knew there would be some clever person out there!  I have indeed created a query for an individual.  I presume I will have to create two separate queries, then add them both to the same list - ie. it is not possible to catch both groups with one query?

Yes, I downloaded it last week and shall use it in future.  It looks brilliant.  But that doesn't solve the issue with the entries I have done previously.

Thanks.  Will give this a try.

The sequence of installations was:
1) installed FH 3.0 from CD
2) installed FH 4.0 Upgrade from CD
3) installed FH 4.0.2 update from download
4) uninstalled novapdf by mistake

We have already tried reinstalling over the top, using the FH 4.0.2 Update download.  It didn't solve the problem.  I guess this is because the update download is not the same as the full upgrade version on the 4.0 disc?

We inadvertently uninstalled novaPDF via Windows XP Control Panel.  As a result we cannot use the FH pdf function.   We reinstalled novaPDF Printer 6.1 from the novapdf website.  Although it is back on the system and works with FH 'Print', it will not work with 'Save As'.
