Accessing AS via FH Internet window
I have always used AS using Google Chrome as my browser. I rarely (if ever) use IE. I have been using FH v6 and looking at Internet>Open web search window. When I try to access AS it doesn't recognise who I am and I have no means of accessing without downloading again and this simply replaces my pre...

Web Searching V6
This is such a useful addition to FH...makes life easier!
The 'Search The Internet' window is a convenient way to access/search the listed sites...I
understand that the stored entries can be edited in certain ways but is it possible to add and store
a website of my choice?

Re: trovigo.com
Update!...Thank you everyone for your helpful suggestions and thoughts. I believe that I have managed to remove Trovigo. On reading various comments within forums from others who have used certain programs to remove this unwanted and unwelcome visitor, I must admit that I was some what fearful of do...

Re: trovigo.com
Thank you Helen and Mike, The program which you recommended Helen seemed to find things associated with Trovigo and files such as conduit etc were quaranteed. However Trovigo still was operational in IE and within Family Historian. I have found the pest in IE: Tools>Internet Options. Its conduit.com ...

trovigo.com
I have just upgraded to V6. All was going well until I opened Internet>Open web search window . I then found that the search was linked to Trovigo.com! (I have 'McAfee Security Scan Plus' and 'Advanced System Care 8' but neither has been able to detect Trovigo.) I have not noticed Trovigo before and...

windows7 'snap' facility and Ancestral Sources
I've been using the 'Snap' facility of Windows 7 to open 2 windows side by side - each window being half of the screen.
However, when I try this with Ancestral Sources, it seems that the AS window is larger than half and it 'overlaps' the other window!
Am i doing something wrong!?

Merging Two Projects Together.
Well - the deed is done! I have today successfully merged two projects! F.H. 'held my hand' throughout the process and made it quite simple really. Each stage was straightforward and yes I was given the option to copy the media and this went smoothly as well. It could have taken endless hours of wor...

Merging Two Projects Together.
I need to merge 2 projects together and plan to merge one complete project (as opposed to selecting bits) into the larger project. One individual links the two projects. Just in case the merge didn't go quite as planned(!)-I thought that I would make a copy of the two projects and use those to under...

'Out of Memory' messages in FH
Exporting takes me out of my comfort zone I'm afraid! - but hope this further information helps. If I go back to my 5x Grandfather using Focus Window > Media > View Media for Selected Records then I can see the images (which have been troublesome) in the Multimedia Window and I can magnify them...

'Out of Memory' messages in FH
Thanks Jane I have looked at the saved images and none seems too huge - in fact total images take up 241MB. Largest image is 6MB alone. There does not seem to be any link with the file type. Some jpgs are not displaying but most of them are. I have switched off my antivirus and operated FH but I am ...

'Out of Memory' messages in FH
Over the last couple of days I've seen 'out of memory' and 'low on memory' messages when using diagrams on FH. A few images are replaced with crosses even though the file paths are correct. When I 'View All Media' some 12 or so images out of a total 375 images seem unable to load. When I try to enla...

Add Images on New Project
I am the person who reported it(!) - I knew something was wrong only because AS didn't function as it usually did and I was not offered the usual option the save to the media file. If indeed FH does sort things out then all will be well for version 5 users. For other users perhaps AS could simpl...

Projects and media sub file
It would be easier altogether if FH set up the media folder when the new project is created. Poor souls like me want the program to be as fully automated as possible so that when we save something then it's saving to the right place!! As someone who has next to no knowledge of how a program's code w...

Projects and media sub file
I have just started a second project. I thought all was fine until I tried to save a new census image. I have been used to being given the option of saving to the media sub folder but I wasn't given that option this time. On checking the new project folder I saw a folder ending .fh_proj and another ...

Thanks for trying to help!- I am using method 1. I didn't take the option to 'avoid an Import bug to be fixed in next release'. On opening AS tools> autotext editor, the baptism source has 3 template options but the census source has none. I didnt know what you meant by default at that stage but res...
