Thanks Nick and tatewise, autohotkey cracked it. But I'm pretty sure there was a program included with Win 3.1 that I used to change the Hotkey's. At the time I had no access to the internet.

and Win 3.1 WFWG was the dogs dodars I used to be able to program command keys i.e. CTRL +W or ALT +W with short sentences for repetititve entry's. I can't remember how I did it, can anyone help ?

I'm working with Nick off Forum regarding this issue.

Updated Nick today with: Have entered 35 Census Returns since the 16th Aug, including 1 for Canada with no problems.

I deactivated Autosave when I installed FH.

Just checked and it's still deactivated.

And there's more. Retried to enter Census again. Shutdown and restarted AS Chose year - 1911 Loaded Image Copy / paste Ref ID. Copy / paste address Copy / paste Place Deleted Ref ID from Title. Find ID Select Person (Head) Entered the following Marr Years, Chd Born, Chd Alive, Chd Died Copy / paste ...

There is no entry for the above in the FH Sources list.

Here we go again.   Entered a 1911 Census, followed by a 1901 then the following 1911 for the Verney / Kempley families. Chose year - 1911 Loaded Image Copy / paste Ref ID. Copy / paste address Copy / paste Place Deleted Ref ID from Title. Find ID Select Person (Head) Entered the following Marr Year...

Next move for me would be to rename the corrupt file, add OLD to its file name. Then reinstall the program. If that fails contact Calico and request a copy by email

Verify the '100% correct' information told to you by family members.

Try to record conversations with 'older' members of the family and let them go of on a tangent. Surprising how much information comes to light that way.

I'm not knocking Foxit, or any other PDF reader.

My first choice for any new type file I download is the program it was designed for. Then if I'm not happy with that I will go searching for something else.

Try the Adobe Reader, which is what PDF files are designed for.
I've never had the need to use anything else.

Do you have an Adobe Reader program on you system ?

Ok so you found the family in the Census only to learn that they had extra issue that at some time died. You can't find any record for them so how do you show them in your tree ? (I love it when who ever filled in the Return also included the names of the children that died. What a God send). ID:4699

My set up is very similar to Gerry's except that I have split the data in to Paternal and Maternal folders for BMD, Parish and Census files. Pictures, Will's, Trials and co. are kept in common folders.

BTW, I'm only tracing my tree, my Partner's is being done by her daughter.

I have one case where a child has been baptized twice, once on his own then with three siblings, will the set up catch this and allow me to enter the second entry ?
