Re: Backup! Backup! Backup! Windows 10!

You should have been able to revert to the Win 7 image saved by Win 10 Upgrade: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/going-back-to-windows-7-or-windows-81 The machine just sat there doing nothing when I tried to revert back. Gave it 2 hours, nothing. My Laptop is 7 years old. Was purchased...

Backup! Backup! Backup! Windows 10!

Took the plunge and decided to upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10 last week. A complete disaster. Made a complete dogs dinner of my laptop. Unable to connect to the internet and left hanging when trying to use Windows Explorer. Gave up after trying to sort it out for 24 hours, then took the decision to do...

Re: An odd one.........

Is it possible that the most recent FH V6 file import, export, backup, etc, dialogue involved that G: drive? So, because it is in the memory of FH, perhaps it is checking the drive/folder exists. If you perform a command that involves a file browse dialogue does it offer the G: drive by default? Ar...

An odd one.........

This morning when starting up FH v6.0.4. it caused my external DVD drive, on G:, to come alive. Never having had this happen before I tried it a few times with the same result. Why would FH look to the USB ports on start up?

The program and all files are on my C: drive.

Diagram Screens

How do I have more than 1 screen open? When I open a diagram and click on a box the existing screen changes to that person. In v5 I could have loads of screens open and switch between them.

As far as I'm aware Quebec, Canada is a few thousand miles from the Alaskan Boarder, but not according to the Map Window in V6! :(

FH6 and AS4

Nick,

How will FH6 affect AS4. Will you have to make any changes to cope with the new additions such as Witnesses?

I take it you got sight of FH6 before release.

Not all BMD's are registered with the GRO. Have you tried the local Records Office to see if they have a copies of the Birth and Marriage.

Re: No Baptism Date

If you can find where the record is in the original document, it is usually on a page with many others, it might give a better indication of at least a "between" dates. 6th record earlier has Baptised on 4 Jul 1799, the one immediately after has Baptised 28 Mar 1800. D Ralph seems to have mixed wit...

No Baptism Date

No Baptism Date given so took a punt and entered Sep 1799.

The Vicar had a bad habit of forgetting to enter the date.

FH, AS and Youtube

I have removed my 10 year old Xp desktop from the internet and now only use my Laptop to connect. Is it possible to download all the animations on youtube so I can load them on to my Xp?

I have taken the Xp (Dell 4500) back to day one setup....Wow! did that speed it up! :)
