Good luck with the install. Your friend was wrong, and Mike is right - Restart clears everything down, not Shutdown, even though this seems unintuitive. It is possible to change the Windows settings for this, but I wouldn't recommend that at the moment!

Looks like "Nr Wotton" to me, i.e., near Wotton.
