Unmarried parents
Thank you Nick and tatewise. I deleted the marriage entry in the facts tab and the narrative shows just what I wanted.

Unmarried parents
I have a problem on how to record a birth to unmarried parents. Ann Baxter registered the birth of her son William in 1842 and showed the father as Wiliam Kirkby. Her son took her surname Baxter, which shows on subsequent census. I can only assume that William Baxter did not know his father. When ...

WW1 Death Certificate
Thank you Adrian. I have ordered the death certificate. I had previously visited the CWGC site and found some details, it was just the method of obtaining the certificate that eluded me.
Many thanks again.

WW1 Death Certificate
I wish to obtain the death certificate of a great uncle 'missing presumed dead' in WW1 on the Somme in July 1916. I have his regimental details. Where do I go to obtain this certificate, if one was issued?

Another death to decipher
I think it is oedema, which is an excess of fluid. See http://www.paul_smith.doctors.org.uk/archaicmedicalterms.htm
Hope this helps.

Source Records
To the right of the individual record box,in the sources box, there is a drop down menu at the top giving name, birth, death etc. I had entered a census record for 1901 but the entry would only show in the source box underneath when the drop down menu was on name. There was no title for census in the...

Printing diagram to A3 printer
I have a friend who has an A3 printer, who has offered to print my family diagram on size A3 paper if I send him a disc. How do I copy my diagram to disc? Or is this not possible. I can find no help looking on the forum or through the manual.

Ged Com Census
Nick I think I have solved the problem. Whilst I was using your Ged Com Census, I had FH minimised on the toolbar, I had therefore expected the open FH to be updated straight away. However I closed FH and reopened it with the latest GC Backup and all was well. Thanks for you prompt reply. A great pr...
