I think so too.

V4: CTRL+right cursor doesn't work any more?
In the Records Window.
Marking a section of text still works the old way, i.e. SHIFT+CTRL+right or left. That's really strange.

V4: CTRL+right cursor doesn't work any more?
Oh. Correction. Jumping from one word to the next now isn't CTRL+right or left, but CTRL+up and down. Funny. OK, it seems I'll have to get used to that?

V4: CTRL+right cursor doesn't work any more?
I recently upgraded from V3 to V4, and basically find it pretty interesting, and an improvement of something that already was the best. However, I was rather astonished to find out just now that jumping from one word to the next (for example, in sources, but also in names) does not work any more. It...

Expression for source ID to Query
... another option would be listing all sources that are referred to in a given list of individuals (named lists), and then maybe limit by the LastUpdated condition. But how do I get the sources referred to in individual records from a named list?

Expression for source ID to Query
I just stumbled across a similar problem ... in a source query, is there a way to get that RecordId for the source?
I tried '=RecordID(%SOUR%)', but that didn't work.
What I want is extracting sources which have numbers between X and Y, for example.

Children's marriages in Family Group Sheet
I'm having problems with this one again in v. 3.1: Wanting to list ALL marriages of an individual in this person's section of the Family Group Sheet, I had defined five marriage events (labelled marriage, marriage2, marriage3, etc.) in the Contents/Family Member Main Items section. Which was not a v...

FH2.3 - editing narrative sentences
Hi Jane, indeed yes. It wasn't relevant for what I had planned, but yes. If one doesn't want to make the whole system fit for multiple languages, it might help if Calico Pie could devise a short form for the {date} sentence part as they did for the {place} part: Place (with no prefix) Code: {_place}...

FH2.3 - editing narrative sentences
Just came across this thread - is there a way to change the narrative sentences in v. 3? The manual says about {date}: 'Date Code: {date}Will insert the date in a text format, with an appropriate prefix. For example, if the date is an exact day, the prefix will be on (e.g. on 30th January, 2001)...

Notes referring to names
Hi,
I just found out that notes which are attached to names do not print in the Family Group Sheet. Is there a way to make sure those notes are there, too?
TIA

Age also in weeks
Hi, I would like to have some additional minor detail, some time in the future: the age (e.g. at death) can be given in years, months, and days. But the sources often use weeks, too. So far I've always been converting the weeks to months and days, but I would like to remain nearer to the source orig...

Professional genealogist in England/Ireland needed
Hi,
a client asked me whether I knew a professional genealogist in England and Ireland. At the moment I do not know the specific areas, but I'd be willing to establish the contact with that client.

Diagram: also shift ancestral spouses
After Simon's extensive explanation in the original thread, I tend to cancel this wish list request. Still am not very happy about the results, but I see that there are reasons why the software does it this way and not another.

Diagram: also shift ancestral spouses
As it seems, the All Relatives Diagram allows the shifting of spouses if they are descendants in that diagram, BUT NOT if they are ancestors, e.g. if an ancestor married twice and had children from both marriages. I had a case in which I would have liked the ancestor's second wife on his right side,...

You're right!
The correct term is:

Spouses' LifeDates in Family Group Sheets
I would like to include the spouses' life dates into a custom version of the Family Group Sheet. I managed to get the following into the 'Family Member Main Items' section of the Report Options, Contents tab: with %INDI.~SPOU[1]>NAME[1]%, %INDI.FAMS[1]>MARR[1].DATE%, %INDI.FAMS[1]>MARR[1].PLAC% Whic...

Children's marriages in Family Group Sheet
I believe I had invented a solution for this problem, but lost the specifications when upgrading to V3. In the children's sections of the Family Group Sheet, we do have information about their spouses (if any). I would, however, also like to have the child's marriage date and place in that section, ...

Hi, another question in this context: can I get sort of a 'middlefix'? In Germany and some other countries, we have nobility titles looking like this: John VON Miller. If I prefix the Von, it lands in front of John, if I suffix it, it's behind Miller. In my earlier software, I for some time solved t...

thanks again - those data references are hard to understand, but once one has got them, they are extremely powerful. One of the most interesting features in this software.

How can I get the ID of an individual person into a family-type query? I tried:

but that does not work with family-type queries.
