FH 6.2.2 and Wine 1.8
Have I missed some thing or is there any specific help on whether family historian will work with wine 1.8. If it does are there any transferring issues or problems with importing the old settings? If there is already some thing in the forum I apologise please tell me where it is. Thank you

Re: Create website files with .php extension
Mike, I accept what you say but this is why I either don't put a lengthy url in repository details or I don't put one at all. I find that putting links in all these detail areas means that if you use them and they don't work you tend to shorten the link to just the website address anyway. This obvia...

Re: Create website files with .php extension
Mike Good news, i have found a way of converting the published html files to php including all the links and it seems to work fine. This avoids any need to amend the .htaccess file even when it is updated by the host. If anyone wants the details it is a very simple and straight forward process for w...

Re: Create website files with .php extension
Mike Thanks for that, I know that the way we have written the php means that it has to be inside the html file, because it uses the id, first name and last name to identify which folder of media to put in the gallery. As a result I will look at ways of changing the code or seeing if I can get 1&1 to...

Re: Create website files with .php extension
Mike Sadly I think that all the files will need to have the .php extension, as the online webspace will only execute the php in htm/html files if it knows that the files are .php or the .htaccess file tells it to manage the files as such. If only 1&1 could amend their code to auto generate the AddHa...

Create website files with .php extension
I have recently designed a picture gallery using php which will enable files to be displayed online for my database of family tree individuals. This requires the php code to be put in the 4 boxes at the end of the "create a website" feature. This code has been tested off-line and works perfectly, an...

Website creation with customised css
When FH produces a website I want to be able to change the width of the pages and also the paths for the navigation (without having to do it individually on 6000+ pages). Is there a template file I can amend to do this so that it will put the information on every page in place of the information it ...

Re: Custom reports
Thank you to both of you for your help - I had been to what I thought was the C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie folder but somehow I must have had a "Friday afternoon moment". The explanation of the search issues also makes sense - I should have known better!
Thank you once again

Re: Custom reports
I am running Windows 7. The path is as follows: c:\Users\Public\Family Historian\Reports\Custom I have two other, different paths from where they have been backed up (but as explained before, searching '*.fhr' on the whole computer brought up nothing and hidden files are set to be shown). I thought ...

Re: Custom reports
I have found the "Custom" folder and I can see all of my other custom reports - just not the 2 most recent ones. The only difference is that the 2 most recent have been made in FH6 - everything else, to my knowledge, has been the same.
Many thanks

Re: Custom reports
I've found all my other custom reports which I've used before in Version 5, but the two that I have created in version 6 do not exist at all on my computer, anywhere. I have tried searching for all .fhr files and for the filename itself but there is nothing on my computer for it. It does, however, r...

Re: Custom reports
Thank you - it does certainly look better once published.
I still don't know where the saved custom report is though - do you know if FH6 save custom reports somewhere differently now?
Many thanks

Custom reports
I created a custom report by opening one of the standard ones, making my changes and then saving report as "custom report type". I am doing this for my website and have got all the facts etc listed that I wish. With some census entries, the address is very close to the census fact. I have identified...

Re: an error occurred during website creation
As I expected, it seems as a user I cannot achieve what I want, I have to change to accommodate the software. Since the problem of loading software on other drives has been around since I started using computers in 1987 any sane person might have thought that by now the software industry would have ...

Re: an error occurred during website creation
I have checked the Publish menu and none of the reports will operate - it just says report not found. I have used the plug in when I transferred originally and I have now used the plug in again to transfer the settings to see if this made any difference. The answer is No, it didn't. I am now left wi...

Thank you all, as usual I want to do something that the software is not capable of! I will experiment with sizes etc to see if I can overcome the problem, but in the meantime docking the source pane to the right is the best option, Thank you.

Property Box
Attached is a copy of the property box. This shows the toolbar under the fact window and the toolbar under the source window which are too narrow for the text etc. Also the source window is so small that you cannot make out what the source is. I have tried to re-size the toolbars but cannot find any...
