Find Duplicate Individuals Version 1.5+
I'm a bit confused by the version numbering; today's version is 1.6. I think the scoring is perhaps still a bit adrift? I have a Mary Ann FIRTH and an Ann FIRTH coming 14th in my result set. They have the same year of birth -- 1817(app) -- but that's it. Different place of birth, completely differen...

Sorry, didn't get chance to check 1.1, but 1.2 ran through my 12000 individuals in under two minutes. The results look interesting, clearly worthy of further study. Many thanks! Something that surprised me about the result set -- presumably a FH feature, not down to you, Mike -- was that although t...

Find Duplicate Individuals
It got about 30% of the way through my 12000 individuals before quitting with 'Not enough memory'. It would certainly be good to include optional checks on, for example, whether two apparently similar individuals have different parents, or whether they have conflicting census entries for the same ye...

What is the Purpose of Plugins?
I can see where you're coming from, Mike, and I'm very largely in agreement. A plugin is an excellent solution to a minority or one-off requirement, and provides for a fast and effective response to a specific FH issue. It can also act as a useful prototype testbed for more complex software developm...

FH file associations
The only .fh extensions listed there are .fh, .fh_lua and .fh_proj -- the ones that I've previously assigned manually in the manner mentioned by John. Oddly, .ged isn't in the list, although I've assigned it also to FH, and the association works. Picking one at random, .fhdx (diagrams) doesn't appea...

The snag there is the need to repeat the process for .ged, .fh_data, .fh_proj, .fh_lua and probably others.

My Windows file associations for FH files seem to gave astray. Possibly this is a side-effect of removing the 5.0 beta version? Is there a better way of reinstating the associations than reinstalling 5.0?

If you display the tree and select Tree Pages > Tree Settings > Tree Info , then on the LHS of the window you can edit the tree's name and description. On the RHS of the window, there's a button to Export your family tree data, as a GEDCOM file, to your computer . FH will read that GEDOM. However......

Try File > Print... and select Family Historian PDF as your printer. That printer should also show in the hardware list.

Personally, I'd hold off adding it to the store until (a) it had been trialled by several other users, and (b) you've finished the necessary polishing. But the concept is great, and I'm strongly in favour of making it available (preferably superseding Jane's version, to avoid confusion).

In 5.0.0.3 the fhGetItemText() function has been removed and replaced by fhGetDisplayText() - see near the end of http://www.fhug.org.uk/cgi-bin/index.cgi?action=forum&board=v5beta&op=displaysticky&num=5189 . However, there appear to be some issues with this new function at the moment, and a fix is ...

That's a nifty idea, John -- I've not come across the #BeginDate syntax before -- but unfortunately it doesn't work. The date displayed at the foot of each generated page stays implacably fixed at 01-Apr-2010 (using Firefox 7).

Thanks, Mike, but you missed the key phrase -- 'automatically updated'. What I'm hoping for is along the lines of:
