Just to confirm: it's the FH6 UTF-16 character encoding that Ancestry can't handle. Until (if ever) Ancestry supports Unicode input, you probably won't be able to upload your regular project GEDCOM; you'll have to export from FH a version of the GEDCOM specifically for the upload.

It's always been the case, but my impression is that, as a folder gains more files, its FH access time increases. Something I do over and over again is to display a census image from ancestry.co.uk, then click on "Save" and "Save to your computer". The best method I know of, because it doesn't alter the sequence of any records, is the Standard Query (from the View menu) "Last Updated Individual Records" -- the folk you were last working on are there at the top.

I'm sure Adrian is perfectly well aware of FH's capabilities for multiple Name fields, and for Note fields. What he's asking for goes beyond that -- a formally-defined way of classifying the contents of a Name field, such that it can be consistently processed. Sounds pretty sensible to me.

Assuming you're replying to me and not Jane, the 32 items in Wish List Request on the Main Menu -- the 'temporary' parking place for requests waiting to be categorised on the Wish List proper.

The Wish List Requests folder contains a full year's worth of ideas which haven't yet made it into the list proper, and so cannot be voted upon. What is the status of these wishes in the Big Scheme of Things?

You may well not wish to trust them, but Ancestry says, apropos marking a tree as 'Public', that 'Information about living people is automatically hidden from others and is NOT included in our search index.'
