Unwanted box in Diagram
I have somehow added a wife to an ancestor who is showing (the wife, that is) as a blank box in the relevant Diagram, with 'no Individual corresponding record'. I wish to remove this box, but am having problems. I can hide it, but that appears to only solve it temporarily. As there is no record I ca...

Show Project Statistics
Mike I have just discovered, and downloaded, this excellent plug-in. I have, however, one anomaly - Flags for 1851, 61, 71 and 81 censuses are not listed, but there is a large number recorded against 'All Other'. 1841, 91, 1901 and 1911 numbers are shown. I am guessing (correctly or incorrectly) tha...

Opening an FH project
Prior to the last up-date the Open Project icon at the left DID open the Project. I noticed this myself after downloading the update.

AS Flags
When I open AS, I get the following message. The 1851 census is always omitted, although the others are inserted as normal.

Places and Addresses
Thanks for the replies. I have settled on no commas in the street number, but may stick to St. for churches as I was taught (back in the day!) that you put a full-stop after an abbreviation - St. and Rd. I am also rather proud of myself that I have managed to adjust the Fact Set Templates to include...

Places and Addresses
I know that this topic has been brought up before in Forums (Fora?) and the Knowledge Base. However, when entering an address in the Address line, does protocol tell one to enter '8, Smith Street' or '8 Smith Street'. The presence or lack of the comma designates whether the data goes to Part 1, 2 or...

comma separated amp; Tab separated
I have done the same thing and would be interested to see if there is a way of fixing it up. I didn't find the Tab separation until I had a fair number of Comma separations.

Marriages again
Eureka! I now have an Expression up and running. Thanks Tatewise and sdl180.
How do I modify these to show Births and Deaths? I have a note in the source if I have a copy of those documents, as for Marriages.
Thanks

Marriages again
Thanks for all the interest and assistance. However, maybe I should clarify my question. I have 2 paternal ancestors who both married twice. Also (as assumed) I wanted to insert a M icon onto the relevant diagrams. (I have learnt the difference between Flags and Icons). In one case I have a marriage...

Marriages again
Continuing on with my Marriage certificate entries. In the Notes section of the Marriage Source Box, I enter 'copy of marriage cert' in the cases where I possess one. I have written a small query which places a M flag against the people with this Note. However, I have found out that if it is a secon...

Wow! I seem to have opened Pandora's Box.
My own query was answered by Nick, using the 'associated individual' Tab.
I think I got lost in the following discussions
Thanks again.

I have just started using AS for marriages and am not sure how it handles witnesses. If they are in the File, should the Marriage data be added to them? In the cases I have put in so far this has not occurred, and I wasn't sure if that was the design, or me going wrong. Regards Roger[question] ID:5998

Query within sources
Whenever I get hold of a census for use with Ancestral Sources I make a note 'copy of census' in the Note area, and this is then include with that census in the Sources. I would like a query which would allow me to see which census Sources have this note, bearing in mind that I have other census dat...

Thanks, Jane and Peter. It dawned on me just after posting that my problem was due to deleted individuals. I have now used the Record Identifier tool to re-number them all.

File Statistics
When I click on File Statistics, it tells me that I have 1371 Individual records and 402 Source records. However, my Individual list shows 1411 and the Source list shows 616.
Why is there a discrepancy?

Places - same number of levels for all?
I have found out why Places sometimes shows the address and other times does not. When I first started using FH, I entered the complete address at PLACE. I have since gone to the convention mentioned above, with the postal address at ADDRESS. Ancestral Sources uses PLACE and ADDRESS. FH Reports put ...

Places - same number of levels for all?
As an addition to this discussion, when I open Tools/Work with Data/Places, I have the following problem: I usually enter census places at Place, and the census address at Address. In some cases street numbers and names which I have entered at Address are listed under Places, and others are not. Wha...

Thanks, Jane
In the end I used the 'Contains Text' query, entered what I wrote in the Notes ('copy of xxx cert') and then set the flag.
It worked!

I use General Records Office as a generic source and then enter the index details in 'Where within source' and the certificate details in 'Text from source'.
I am sure that I downloaded a query that did this, but can't find it now.

I am not very good at creating queries, although can edit an existing one, and would like some assistance as follows: Whenever I get a certificate (B.M or D) I enter the information in the 'Text from Source' and then enter 'copy of xxx cert' in the Notes. I would like a query which would detect this...
