Re: Error on info box for Associated Individuals
Thanks, gents. Found _SHAN tag using the Plugin which has opened a whole new can of worms. 761 UDF's of which the majority are UID's. Can one track these back to their instigators?

Re: Error on info box for Associated Individuals
Nick Thanks for the explanation. I live in the Antipodes and I have ordered an Upgrade CD - I like to have physical things, rather than rely on the Interweb - which should arrive shortly, depending on the vagaries of international post. When I install this, will the Witness Roles be updated also? Ch...

Re: Error on info box for Associated Individuals
Yes, it does refer to FH V6. It happened to me also as I have not yet installed V6. I don't know where the data goes in V5 if you tick the OK box.

Re: Places and Addresses - best practice
Graham I have asked a similar question previously and now use 4 columns for Address and 2 for Place. Address is thus Suburb,Town/Village/Hamlet,County,Country. If there is no suburb, only a Town/Village/Hamlet, it is recorded as ,Town/Village/etc. and appears in Work with Data/Places as <blank>,Town...

After you have deleted all you need, you can renumber those remaining by using Tools\Work with Identifiers\Individuals.

Re: Map showing all emigration locations
I have just used FA Maps 'properly' for the first time, as per the above instructions. Wow! Half my wife's ancestors (born in the UK or Australia) show up in the US! Goes to show that you need to record a full address and place to make this work. I am now going through adding counties or states as r...

Printing Diagrams
In recent months there was a question about increasing the size of diagrams and printing without blurring. Tatewise replied and the response was to do with SCALE, from memory. I thought that I had printed out the way to do this, but apparently didn't. Mike, could you please point me in the right dir...

Re: Childrens' gender
I realised after my first post that I had similar situations on A LOT of other 1911 census reports with 'Children Who Have Died', and am now going through them all. Ordering certificates might get a WEE bit expensive, although the death records in appropriate decades have reaped some reward. I don't...

Re: Childrens' gender
Thanks for the replies. I have done as Lorna suggests, using FreeBMD to go through death registers. The family name is Massey, living in Salford. Mother was born 1847, married 1868. From 1871 to 1881, 30 children under the age of 10 were registered as died (out 0f 57 total) - many in the age bracket...

Childrens' gender
I have just found an ancestor in the 1911 census who had 4 children, 1 living in 1911 and 3 died. The living one is the only one I can track through the censuses - she was born in 1870. How should I record the other 2? They must have been born and died between censuses. I would like to record them s...

Re: Census format - bulk change
Mike
Thanks for that. I have used the Search/Replace before but didn't think of it in this case. I can also tick YES to your second comment = AS inputs for other events, and will have a go at the LUA set up.
Will also look at the Tab Bar Space idea.
Thanks again.

Census format - bulk change
When I first used AS Census, I used the default 'comma' spacing. It was only after some time and reading in this forum, that I changed to the 'tab' format which I now use all the time. Is it possible to do a 'bulk change' to all the 'comma' formatted records to change them to 'tab' format?

Mike, I found the 'uninstall' in C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Plugin Data\Ancestral Sources Data Entry.dat as you suggested.
Everything appears to be working as it should.
Thanks

Re: AS Plug in v 4.1
It is a brand new PC with W7HP x64. Thinking back, I loaded FH from CD's - I have V3 plus the updates to V5. I used the FH KB reinstallation flow chart to do that. I downloaded the plugin when it was V4 and, from memory, that worked. It was after I downloaded V4.1 to include Deaths and Burials that ...

Re: AS Plug in v 4.1
I have a new PC and installed AS4.0.1 x64 when I got it. I have checked and I don't have the 32 bit version on the PC (at least I can't find it in Program Files x86 and it doesn't show in Programs & Features). I have just uninstalled AS and when I run the plug in I get the screen with all the variou...

AS Plug in v 4.1
My AS data Entry plug in (v 4.1) only opens AS V 3.2.3, even though I have v 4.0.1 installed. It starts off OK, showing that it tis V 4.1, and the type of data which can be input, but when I select Death entries I get "The source type specified ..........DEATH is not valid. Only CENSUS and BAPTISM a...

Re: Reports - formatting list of sources
I find that I have the same outcome. I use Ariel 10 (Times New Roman reminds me too much of work!) and from source 100 the lines drop. Using Ariel Narrow - no problem. I experimented by narrowing the margins at both sides, but no difference. It seems to be a page width thing, picking up the extra ch...

Re: Death Cert - Informant
I'm back! The informant data is not appearing in the Text. I am on auto text, 1837. I have looked at the template and it appears to be correct - I must admit that I did a bit of an edit in order to separate the fields. I put a hyphen between signature, description and residence. The hyphen appears, ...
