No that's not it because you can increase how many columns show but that does not affect the 'Sentence ' box at the bottom of a 'Fact'.

Missing Commas
I have entered facts for residence, christening and education and have in all 3 entered an Address with comma separation (e.g. Number, road, ) and Place (Town, County, Country,) with comma separation. However in the sentence produced the last comma is omitted from the last address detail so that the...

Jane Yes I can do that. Is there a specific e-mail address that I should use? In passing I also tried the UDF plugin and again I only get half the progress window. Haven't tried all the rest so not sure if it applies to all. I do however like the look of the progress box you created for 'List Source...

Jane just run it. Started at 19:57 and finished INDI at 20:10. Then finished FAM at 20:12. CPU usage throughout was between 50 & 52% and Memory was between 1.75mb at start to 1.56 at finish. Interestingly though when it had finished running there was no result i.e. a Result Quey but the Plugin box b...

As a post script the scenario above was run on a source that has 15,182 Citations. Ran it on a Source with 1 citation and it took about 1 minute.

Jane Deleted old Plugin and installed the new one. As you suggested ran from Edit option and the following happened. 1) Progress box opened fully so I could see progress bar and cancel button. 2) At top started with INDIviduals and count started and went through all of the 41074 individulas in my pr...

Since original posting I have found that if you leave it running nothing happens except that it forces FH to 'Stop Responding' and it closes down. When you re-open FH it has also 'lost' what was the default project. I have also uninstalled FH v5 and re-installed from v4 CD upgrade with key and then ...

Plugin - 'List all Citations etc'
I read on the FHUsers Digest of a member having problems with the plugin 'List all citations for a selected source'. I too have a problem in that it starts to run but never gets anywhere and also the box with the green bar running across it does not seem to expand to the correct depth as (and I am a...

comma separated amp; Tab separated
If I created Census entries in v2 with Comma Seperated in the Auto text field and now want them to be Tab seperated is there a way of doing that automatically?

Thank you that works perfectly.
As an aside because I have Births from 5 countries I have set up 5 Expressions. Do I need to do that or can I embed all the countries into 1 Expression or is it best to leave them as separate ones? The same applies for Marriages and Deaths.

Mike I have now entered the appropriate expressions and all works well. I have 1 issue however in that if I have an additional source for a Birth record say for example if I downloaded or entered information I would have set up an 'Automatic Source Citation' and that Source appears as a Birth, Marri...

Mike I apologise if I am using the wrong name at times but it is slightly confusing when the 2 words are used in the same sentence as per the following in your reply. 'The reason they appear coupled in your case is that your Diagram Options have Boxes with a Condition of Record Flag that specifies I...

Mike I think we are in the same ballpark. In the Boxes tab of the Diagram Options I have under 'Condition'; 'Record Flag' then Flags/Icons for all Events:- Birth; Christening; Twins; Triplets; Marriages; Deaths; War Dead; and all the English & Scottish Census from 1841 to 1911. When I use AS to ente...

Thanks Mike. However when I add the suitable expression for Birth; Marriage and Death I get duplicate icons on my diagram. Previously I always used to add the appropriate icon from the All tab of the Individual record; right click on the individuals name; select 'Set Flag' and choose the appropiate ...

Mike Thank you for your reply and that should save a lot of hard work. The reason behind my approach was reading an article on adding an expression to a Diagram Box which if I understood correctly could then automatically add the appropriate Icon to a diagram. So for example if I created a new Birth...

Also GRO ferences as I record them are event specific i.e. Births only do Births; Marriages for marriages and Deaths for Deaths.
It is only that they are under a Generic Source title 'BMD - England'.

OK. Let's take a Birth event as an example. The Source pane shows:- Sources for: Birth* Source: BMD England Entry Date: 4 Nov 2011 Assessment: Promary evidence Where within Source: Q2 1908 Worksop Vol 7b Pg 26 Text from Source: Blank Note: Blank This would be the same pattern for Marriages and Death...

Unfortunately I don't have that info in that field. Looks like a slow painstaking exercise unless a script or something can be written in the 1st field of the Source Pane which is headed 'Sources for' and chages depending what field you highlight on the Individual Record. It also has the drop down a...

When I started using FH many years ago I created a Source 'BMD - England' and recorded under it all Birth, Marriage and Death records where I had found the complete GRO reference which I then entered as a citation. What I would like to do now is to separate them into 3 new sources for Birth, Marriag...

Having read about it I have taken the plunge. I registered for an account (succeeded) and installed Dropbox on 3 machines (successfully). Then following the advice on FHUG; Utility - Dropbox I firstly moved the FH Projects folder into the Dropbox folder. It then says start FH but when I tried that I...

Copying within a Query
I recently had help from Jane and Mike on creating a Custom Query on Source and Citations.
Following on from that is there a way of copying an entry say from the result in the Note field to any vacant Note cells for the same Source?
