Opening a Diagram to just a Named Person
I know the answer is somewhere on this forum but can I find it :( At the moment, whenever I try to open a chart (say ancestors) I'm taken to a window where I have to confirm the person and the generations up and down. How do I get back to the situation where I can skip that window and just get the c...

Re: Transferring Customisation Settings from Old to New PC
Thanks Helen/Mike for the advice, I had to ring Calico Pie support as I needed their help to deactivate/activate licences to use the plug in routes. They gave me an alternative method that didn't require activated licences on both old and new pc. It was to copy all the folders and files in the (hidd...

Transferring Customisation Settings from Old to New PC
I've now got FH installed on a new pc and have transferred the licence from the old pc to the new one. All that works fine as does access to the project file that is stored on a separate NAS However, I've obviously got a totally clean FH nstallation with none of the years of customisation that I hav...

{'statusCode':400,'error':'Bad Request','message':'Invalid cookie header'
As of today I'm consistently getting the above error message when I cllick on the fmp matches in the FH focus window. MyH matches is working as normal as is the fmp website if I go straight to it. Has anybody come across this or knows how to fix it. I know there was a large cumulative update last ni...

Re: Printing to A3
Hi Jane, I had tried it. I can get through Part 1 easy enough and I can successfully do the first three bullets of Part 2 so I've got the top left hand corner optimally positioned. As soon as I grab the Bottom Right Hand corner of the page, bullet 4, all page boundaries move and there is no scale fi...

Printing to A3
I am trying to print a series of customised descendant diagrams onto A3 (portrait). If I have 'Show Page Boundaries' enabled I can see that most of the diagrams are calculated to requires 2 pages - side-by-side - to print. Once printed, the box sizes are generously large so I know, with a bit of twe...

Is there a better way to configure diagrams
I'm not expecting the text of the file attach to be in anyway legible but there are two boxes in the latest generation of the tree that are coloured yellow (via box marking). I'm working on these two people and specific parts of their earlier generations to fit in a third person based, at the moment...

7.0.3 Upgrade
Just applied the FH7.0.3 patch and the upgrade process completely locked up towards the end. I had to close it via Task Manager (Win10).
I've just reloaded FH and it shows the 7.0.3 version numberand so far everything seems to be working.
Thought I'd post this in case it happens to others.

Export GEDCOM Plugin 4.4 - TNG Option
I've just been reading the other recent post on the TNG option. Mine covers a different issue using this option but also affects the 5.5 option as well. So there may be others This is the first time I've used this plugin. My gedcom file now has 15,000 individual records and, over the years, all sort...

Adding 'Relationship to Root' to Query
I'm trying to improve how I can utilise FH to improve my DNA research and, probably like everyone else, I've got lots of 4th to 6th cousins spread in many areas of my tree. They all have DNA info, such as testing company, shared segments and emerging or actual MRCA entered in their record. They all ...

Re: Slow Save on Network Share
Mike's suggestion of switching to UTF-16 save format halved the delay times even though, as he pointed out, it doubled the actual file size I'm now in touch with Calico Pie and they have asked me to send them the gedcom that is taking so long to save so they can investigate it. At the moment, all th...

Re: Slow Save on Network Share
Mike's suggestion of switching the utf format to 16 had a definite impact - 18 secs is now 12 secs. No change to anything if I switched security off. I then copied the project folder to a usb drive and ran FH on a laptop from the usb drive. That load time was about 7 secs, save 4 secs.. Out of inter...

Slow Save on Network Share
This was covered in a post last month and the OP was satisfied with the answer - hence a new thread. My gedcom is 18M in size and routinely takes about 6 seconds to load and 18 seconds to save. When the latter is happening (particularly on autosave) you're not aware but any data entry doesn't go in,...

Re: Find Duplicate Individuals - Run time error message
Thanks Mike, The first option worked and identified the rogue date. It formed part of an entry that included a date range rather than a single date. Good news is I couldn't repeat the error by entering a new fact involving a date range and the problem date so it doesn't appear to be anything that ca...

Find Duplicate Individuals - Run time error message
I'm getting the following error (repeatable) when I run this plug-in. Can't seem to find anything in the data file to cause it. FH version is fully up to date. Can anyone help please. Many thanks ADDITION Just for completeness, FH then locks up and Alt-Ctrl-Del has to be used to close FH down. scree...

Re: Creating new emf icons for v7
Calico Pie gave a very speedy response.
Jane was correct. Inkscape would be the program to use. Within it, there's the option of resizing the image which should be 120x120 pixels.
Even better news is I've been provided with a set of the missing icons
Well done Calicoe Pie

Creating Content in New Tabs in Property Box
To try to make tracing of DNA Matches easier, I've created a series of flags of the testing companies where each person can be found. So far, I've created a new tab and I've got the flags showing on it - all grouped at the top. Now I'd like to move them down the page and, ideally, include an additio...

Re: Creating new emf icons for v7
Thanks for the suggestion re Gimp that I tried. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to recognise emf files as a recognised input format so I could't get any further. At the moment, I've put a post up on irfanview to see if someone can throw any light on why it opens a 5K file and tries to save it as a 1M ...

Re: Creating new emf icons for v7
Have since tried with paintshop pro. It's even worse - the saved file size is close to 1M.
The new file is shown as being saved as an emf file but it's obviously very different from the original.

Creating new emf icons for v7
For some reason, there is no '00' in any of the new number icon sets with v7 so I created one last month to use with the 1900 US Census. I used it today for the first time and whilst it shows OK size in the expression condition box, it is absolutely enormous in a diagram. My starting point was the 0...
