Re: Find Duplicate Place Names
I think that I've sussed out why count = #tblToTidy didn't work. After a bit of experimentation it would appear that tables that are created only using the 'Value' and leaving Lua to provide the key e.g. 1 "Peter" 2 "Paul" 3 "Mary" Will return the row count. Whereas tables where the use has provided...

Would you be prepared to give the plugin a try for me please?
Many thanks

Re: Find Duplicate Place Names
I’ve got my prototype running. Hi Mike
That is excellent, thank you very much.
It does look as though I was seeing previous results before.
The showing of white space in the results was just what I needed.
Many thanks

Re: Search and Replace Plugin - Anomaly
Hi Mike Thanks for the reply. I've read the Place Name Changes guidance and it doesn't appear to be giving me issues in this particular case. I always work on a copy when doing search and replace until I'm happy that it's doing what I want - been caught out before :D Your suggestion of using the LUA...

Search and Replace Plugin - Anomaly
FH v6.2.7 Windows v10 19041.450 Search and Replace v3.0 I’ve found what appears to be an anomaly. It would appear that it doesn't like repeating the same Search and Replace action. Am I missing something? I’m trying to tidy up a friend’s Addresses & Places entries. The aim is to remove duplicate spa...

Re: Parameter calculation in Query
Thanks Mike that's exactly what I'm looking for.
I'm not really trying to do anything in particular, I simply wanted to find out if it were possible, and my example was simply that.

Parameter calculation in Query
Is it possible to calculate a value from a parameter in a Query? Note: This is an example to explain the principle of what I am trying to achieve, not a specific query. Project Merge – Some Questions
I am looking to merge two projects. There are about 7,000 individuals in total. At some point in the past about 1,300 individuals have been merged from Project B into Project A. These merged records still exist in Project B. Questions 1. Am I right in thinking that if I only merged those records in ...

This is the guidance received from Ros at Family Historian Support. It works well. It's not possible to do it in a Single step, but you can work around the problem as follows. Get your diagram displayed. Then select Diagram>Set/Clear Marks using Query http://www.quarlton.co.uk/fhug_images/diagram_li...

Re: Export Gedcom File - TNG - Nicknames
That seems quite clear to me Mike.
However, if you make the label *AKA, as you pointed out to me, this moves the search field up the list of 'Other Events' in the Advanced Search.

Re: Export Gedcom File - TNG - Nicknames
Yes to displaying the names.
The search using the Advanced search works, but it's not the most instinctive thing to do.
Thinking about adding a bit of text to the home page to point people in the right direction.
Thanks for the input.

Re: Export Gedcom File - TNG - Nicknames
I've had a reply from Darrin at TNG:- Under Admin/Custom Event Types, you can edit the "Display Order" for each type. Event types with a lower value should be displayed first, so edit the NAME event and assign it a display order lower than all of your other events types (I think negative numbers wil...
