Sorry, it's not possible at the moment as the {age_range} does not have an equivalent built in function.

Re: a few age related questions
Many thanks for your reply Mike.
It does seem strange that {age range} exists for use in Sentence but not in query functions.
I've asked the question of Calico Pie - but I'm not holding my breath.
As I said, it was just something that made me curious.

Re: a few age related questions
This is a question asked out of curiosity. When a new event is added to a person, FH adds an age in brackets. On occasion this is a dual age e.g. (46-47). I was idly wondering how FH arrived at these two values. Reading Lorna Craig's post above, I note that in Sentence there is the option to use {ag...

Re: Tutorial on Queries
Hi I've been trying to adapt the INDI.~FATH>CENS[year=" . Year(%FACT.DATE%) . "].PLAC" example to use with a parameter. In this example: %INDI.CENS[year=1851]% the 1851 would be a parameter What I came up with was %INDI.CENS[year= . "Year(["Param"]) . "]"% %INDI.CENS[year= . "Year(["Param"]) . "]%" ...

Parallels - Windows 11 - Family Historian
Just a quick heads-up for anyone using Parallels. I've just upgraded Windows 10 to Windows 11 following the guidance on the Parallels website. I used a separate Windows 10 install rather than my main install - just in case :-) All went according to plan - did have to use the 'AllowUpgrade.reg' featu...

Re: Conditional Expressions in Queries
Having got my columns working the way I want, what I would like to do is something similar or rows, but I have a feeling that this is going to be a definet NoNo. What I would like is to have two filters that use 'and' Exclude Unless %INDI.BIRT[1].DATE% is null and Parameter = 1900 Exclude Unless %IN...

Conditional Expressions in Queries
Is it possible to incorporate a Parameter into a conditional expression? e.g. I have a Parameter called 'EnterYear' The value entered in 1920 What I want to do is do a conditional expression that displays different values depending on the Parameter value. e.g. =TextIf(["EnterYear"]=1920,"Success", "...

Re: Export Gedcom File plugin new features
Hi Mike I've just had to use the plugin with the 'Keep Media folders' option for the first time. My first thought was that it wasn't working as the progress bar wasn't showing, so I aborted it. Eventually I discovered that what was actually going on was that it was busy recreating the Media folder s...

Re: FH V7.0.8.2
Is anyone else having issues downloading the upgrade? Is there support for the 'In' function in queries?
Is there a way of using 'In' with a query? e.g. Pick up the country name for an event place using =TextPart(%_PLAC%,-1) to get the last element of the Place Assume that this returns "Australia" What I would like to test in the query is along the lines of this: Exclude if "Australia" is in (Australia...

Re: Find Duplicate Place Names
Mike Thanks to your rewriting of the Tidy function, I believe that I can streamline the procedure a bit. Instead of using my function to test if a place name needs tidying, then using the Tidy function, I could simply call the Tidy function with each place name. Then if the result is changed from t...

Hi Mike Thanks for the modified TIDY code, it works as promised. :) Looking at the Newton scenario it would seem that my approach does work. Hi Ron
On both v6.2 and v7
If I enter the Place for an event with a leading space, as soon as I move to another field you can see FH removing the leading space.

Re: Find Duplicate Place Names
Hi Ron
I haven't trapped for leading or trailing spaces because FH appears to handle them itself.
If you go to Tools and Choose work with Data, Places
Then edit an entry to add leading/trailing spaces, FH will ignore them.
