I am already using AS 3.1.0 on Windows 7 64 bit and it works OK, but I am having to change my computer and the new one will be Windows 8 (64 bit).  Will AS work with Windows 8?

Yes, I agree Gerry.  I tried that but the missing buttons didn't reappear.  (I assume you mean the icon over to the right in the diagram toolbar at the top).
