Just went through it again to make sure, and yes the PRINT PREVIEW is greyed out. I have sent another document to the printer and it is awake and printing. Told you, I have the 'magic touch' I can send any computer/software into melt down

Re: FH5 running under Crossover on Mavericks - no text on re
Hi Mike, Not too far into my cups but FILE>PRINT PREVIEW is not highlighted so unable to use. I did say that I missed it first time but did go back and re-read after you referred me back. In fact, I felt so stupid when the PRINT PREVIEW was not highlighted I went back and read it several times more ...

Thanks Mike, I did actually skim that thread but missed the paragraph on the reports. This is a serious blow for me and unsure how to proceed with publishing reports and sharing information. I was also looking forward to publishing several in book format so am off to drown my sorrows. Thanks ...

FH5 running under Crossover on Mavericks - no text on report
Hi, Me AGAIN! Just had to reload FH due to stupid operator (ME) and I cannot get any text when I try to generate a report. I had originally wanted to print off one of my named lists to take to the archive with me but I get the black header lines at the top of the page with no text whatsoever. I have...

A big thank you for trying to help, it took Codeworks more than a few e-mails to work out what had gone wrong but we got there in the end.

Re: FH5.0.9 running under Crossover on Mavericks -moving scr
Update on this problem. I took your advice and got in touch with Crossover. It took some doing but the following from them did the trick. I am posting it in case anyone else is having this problem too. ' Launch Crossover and Family Historian. Then go down to your dock and right-click (control-click)...

Hi Gerry,
Thanks for all your help but will have to try the Codeweavers forum. I deleted and then reloaded Crossover but FH still follows me through all the screens!!

Re: FH5.0.9 running under Crossover on Mavericks -moving scr
Hi Gerry,
Just tried it and the screen still keeps moving with me.
I cannot see what could possible have changed between the trial and paying for it!! There was no download of a 'full' programme so it has to be me and what I have done, just don't know what it was that I did.
Just tried it and the screen still keeps moving with me.

Hi Gerry,

FH5.0.9 running under Crossover on Mavericks -moving screen
Hi, I have recently bought a Macbook Pro running Mavericks (a Mac convert so still a newbie). I downloaded the trial version of Crossover and FH ran fine. However, since paying for it the crossover/fh window follows me when I swipe to a new screen. It did not do this before, it remained fixed in the...

Thanks for explicit explanation - NOW I understand (told you I was useless!. It just seems a shame that you cannot back up both project and GEDCOM when only the GEDCOM has been worked on. I have purchased the book form of 'getting the most from FH5' so will have to sit down and give myself a more th...

I am useless with things technical, I admit it, hence the call for help but I can confirm that I have more than enough memory on the hard drive to save a full backup several times over. Please feel free to suggest anything, however basic (I really am that useless!)as it could possibly the answer.

The programme normally saves correctly if I use 'small (GEDCOM only)or if I skip backup. The problem seems to lie with trying to do a full backup.

Hi Jane, When I change the backup to full under 'backup/restore' options and then try to close the program I am prompted and click 'backup' then I get the 'A problem occurred. Task may not have saved properly'. When I reopen, the work I saved prior to closing has not been saved, even when I have hit...

I am using FH5 and only have of the three 'save as' backup options enabled when closing. I am using the FH GEDCOM and agree that the small (GEDCOM only) option is the one I would use, however, occasionally I like to backup the entire project folder to an external hard drive. When I set the Preferenc...

Upgrading
Like others I have bought all the upgrades as they have been made available but on installation of all the discs involved on my new computer I feel that it would be wiser to upgrade to version 5 as a full disc instead of the upgrade as the life expectancy of these discs are finite. My question is th...

How to save to another location
I have had a major crash and have reloaded my FH GEDCOM from an external hard drive. I have then saved it to the wrong location!! When I try to save it elsewhere I find that I seem unable to do so. I want to save it in my Family Historian Projects file but have inadvertently saved it to my backup...

I am trying to upload the V4 upgrade CD but all I get is: 'Setup was unable to create the directory 'CWINDOWSsystem32'C:'.
