Editing Source Records by Right Clicking

Chris,

Edit/delete is achieved with the mouse, right click, selecting.

Unless *you* switch mouse hands I am lost!

Please explain!

Cheers

Editing Source Records by Right Clicking

Hi Jane,

No I had not tried that one.

It just seems logical to have all options (edit, deletion, etc) on the one (right click) context menu, that's all

Editing Source Records by Right Clicking

The right clicking of a source record should allow deletion. Period.

[ One should not have to select and then use Edit / Delete ]

The right clicking of an item within a source record should allow deletion. It should also allow the editing of the record

Postal Advert

The William Pince scam is from the same address in Southall that is being investigated by Trading Standards from all over the country. A Google search for '9 Trident Way' is most interesting!

http://www.astrocat.exactpages.com/ye2004.html makes very interesting reading!

2.2 Simons announcement and install instructions

As one of those who requested this, I am disappointed that it is still possible to enter 32 May 1870, for example, as a date and FH 2.2 *still* does not object to this invalid date.

1901 census and others

The 1881 is on line at http://www.familysearch.com

I have a subscription the the http://www.ancestry.com site which has search facilities for the 1891.

I *could* be persuaded to make a lookup or two (for the 1891), the 1881 you do yourself .

Updated date and time - a buglet?

Hi Jane, Thank you for that. The program is the British Peditree, the Windows version of Pedigree. I will let Murray Kennedy, its author, know! Then, a standard Find and Replace within Wordpad on that line to change 2 to 3 should be a doddle! There only being one group of TIME within the text file. ...

Hi Jane,
An excelellent idea. If by book, you will include books on CD, too, an even better idea.
A compnay like Archive CD Books do many cd 'books' I speak as just a happy customer.

Updated date and time - a buglet?

Hi Jane,
On opening an existing file and *yes* the file does have times in it. I would not dream of reporting this if the times were zero in the GEDCOM file!

Sources

I have a subscription to Ancestry.com thus giving me access to the 1891 images and its indexed counties. I underline Jane's idea of linking one source to each image, as a family *can* spread onto two pages, thus indexing by family would be wrong here. Indexing to each person would be too long-winded...

Updated date and time - a buglet?

Hi gang,
Importing a GEDCOM file, it correctly lists the updated date for each record but the time is fixed at 00:00

Is this a buglet?

TIA

Feedback on Wish List from Simon?

Hi Simon, Jane,

Would it be possible for individual items in the wish list to be marked as to which version they are likely to be implemented? Even one version ahead would be most welcome.

Ta muchly.

Hi gang,

Does any one (including Simon or Jane) know when we can expect 2.2?

If so, could they spill the beans please?

Before Christmas (2003!)?

Purchase price

Am I being cynical or what?

To be able to purchase FH cheaper and getting a free upgrade to 2.2 when perhaps we early purchasers *may* not be able to so upgrade *would* make me angry!

Correct validation of dates

FH is a great program. However, it suffers from the lack of date checking on input. It will accept a date with the day number greater than 31 both in manual input and import from a gedcom file.

Merging two GEDCOM files

When merging two files, it is possible for Family Historian to crash. Whilst the GEDCOM in the two files is standard, Family Historian cannot cope and crashes, suggesting it may not have had enough memory. This message is spurious, incorrect, and not helpful. The workround until the problem is corre...

Reading GEDCOM files from Pedigree,etc

[sup]Hello Fans,[/sup] I use Pedigree to input all my Family History and my GOONS member registered with the surnames WARN(E) & WEARN(E)data. Pedigree is outputting GEDCOM 4,0 files, so I have a few errors which are corrected by manual amendment. Hope that helps any other user. Best wishes, Phil. ID:9
