Re: Quick Child/Family Snapshot
Doesn't the Plugin Store have a search capability? "Family" wouldn't have to come first in the name.

Re: Quick Child/Family Snapshot
I agree that the = prefix for each spouse is very helpful.
It's handy that the current plugin name begins with "Q" thus allowing the use of the keyboard shortcut Alt T Q.
Incidentally, the current version 0.5 still has "0.4" in its Title.

Thanks, Mike, that all makes sense.
I think it may be best to disable & hide both Minimize & Maximize buttons.

Re: Quick Family Snapshot
Very impressive, Mike, and I'm sure it will be very useful. Does the window have to be modal ? There is a bit of a problem if the window is minimized: the main FH window also disappears, and apparently cannot be restored by using alt+tab , but only by clicking on its icon in the Windows taskbar . Th...

Re: Quick Child Snapshot
I prefer the extra details provided with this Snapshot version, but it cannot fit more than 12 children into the pop-up window on my 1600×900 screen; and I don't think there is any way to scroll the contents of the fhMessageBox window.

Re: Adding 'avatars' to individuals
From Wikipedia: The UTF-8 representation of the BOM is the byte sequence 0xEF,0xBB,0xBF. A text editor or web browser misinterpreting the text as ISO-8859-1 or CP1252 will display the characters for this. The Unicode Standard permits the BOM in UTF-8, but does not require or recommend its use .

Browser is Chrome and it usually asks whether to save the password. It didn't ask when I input the password as described above, presumably because it is already saved.

Re: Upgrade to the forums
Sorry if this is totally irrelevant, but I did notice a slight problem just with logging in to the forums. When I first accessed FHUG after the changes (when I was away for over 6 weeks), I could log in easily, because as previously my username and password had been remembered. But when I logged out...

Using Windows 7 and Chrome, I just see a blank white space where the video should be, and right-clicking brings up "Movie not loaded...". They can be found by searching within youtube.com, and they work OK there.

There is a Standard Query "Ancestors" which you could customize by adding a column for Surname; you could also remove any columns you don't want. One or more columns in the Result Set can be copied and then pasted into a spreadsheet if required.
