Re: Web search window blank Windows 10
Mike, I use a disk with FH 6 and then use the online updates. It has always loaded with IE set at 9 for Windows 8.1 and now for Windows 10 on a brand new PC it would appear. Articles from launch of Windows 10. " What about Windows 10? Microsoft revealed a brand new web browser called Microsoft Edge ...

Re: Web search window blank Windows 10
Jane and Mike I followed all the rules for migration as per knowledgebase and forum articles including user credentials export and import. It was the IE version which defaults to 9 in Windows 10. Changed to IE 11 and all works fine. I would have thought that this issue was solved by now as Windows 1...

Web search window blank Windows 10
I have just migrated to a new Windows 10 PC and all appears ok with one exception. Hints for Find My Past show ok but the web search window it opens is always blank. The hints work fine by opening an external browser window. I searched the forum and knowledge base but have not found anyone else with...

Re: How do I browse for Plugins?
On this same theme I am having a lot of problems running the 'check for plugin updates' plugin. It used to run very quickly but now seems to take anything up to an hour if it doesn't crash beforehand. I am unsure if this is a problem with my PC or if anyone else is having long delays with this check...

Re: Exporting to Tribal Pages
All the occupations have citations showing the sources. I accept that there will be limitations with Tribal Pages but I will continue to seek out a good programme giving ease of access and long term storage of my family tree data.

Re: Exporting to Tribal Pages
Thanks Mike, using default settings does seem to resolve the root problem. Tribal Pages does not import everything in the same way. I notice that sometimes it will show occupations correctly and other times puts the actual note into a separate place. Occupations 6 to 10 do not display correctly desp...

Re: Out of Memory
I too have been getting this out of memory message in the last week. It is followed by FH closing itself down. As per previous reports I am opening up the FMP hints using internal browser window as I have done for several years without any problems. FMP has been suffering from error 500 in recent we...

Exporting to Tribal Pages
I have started experimenting with exporting to Tribal Pages as I have some distant relatives using it. I have noticed an issue. If there is a 'root'person setup in FH it does not get included in the export. I have moved my 'root' person around and each time the export to TP excludes that person. If ...

Re: FTAnalyzer information
It has a useful plugin from FH but I do not find it as useful in the initial stage. If you are trawling through the facts for a single person and notice a missing census then ok. If like me after 30 years of records cannot remember what is missing then not quite so good. As per the attached screenpr...

Re: FTAnalyzer information
I have just tried out this FTAnalyzer programme and found it useful in finding anomolies in my Gedcom file which FH did not find. I especially like the colour coded pages for census omissions with direct linking to the selected website to try and find the missing census. This makes it easy to see wh...

Project Statistics output questions
I am using this plugin to find any possible anomalies in my data. I have read the knowledge base on this plugin and also the forum questions about it. I still have a few questions that I hope some other experienced users can provide an answer based on their use. 1. I have been entering burial dates,...

Re: Relative Pools
I have found the answer in a post by Lorna Craig 29th April 2016 which is a very simple easy solution to see 'Pool' numbers next to individuals in the records window without having to run a query every time. This posting never got to me, probably in the many months that Rootsweb was not behaving las...

Relative Pools
I believe that a few years ago the Duplicate Individuals query/plugin used to give all the 'relative pools' and be able to open up the results to show the contents of the pools. This element of the Duplicate Individuals query/plugin was removed a few versions ago. I have searched the last 5000+ foru...

Re: Media attaching to random people
Mike Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I agree that to you it was attaching to a source record but it showed up against people that were not random as I thought but linked by a common source. By sorting the 'sources' in picture order I found 4 non person specific fact sources with media...

Media attaching to random people
I have noticed a problem of late whereby a few media attachments are being attached as wanted but in addition is also being attached to one or more other random people. This only comes to light when subsequent views of any person in the tree shows an incorrect media attachment which cannot be delete...

Re: English County Boundaries
Neither of these maps show the 'true' counties as of today. I live in North Somerset which is a county in its own right and has been for around 20 years. This was previously part of Avon which covered what is now Bristol, North Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire. Somers...

Faint unreadable hints screen issue
Since the introduction of the built in hints from FMP and Heritage I have had a particular issue. A frequent occurrence is that the hints are very pale and unreadable. Only repeated reloading of the hints bring them back to a readable state. Although faint they do work when clicked on but this issue...

Re: Removing reviewed Findmypast hints
I think this question is related loosely to the topic. I have had to rebuild my PC and all the FMP hints that I have dealt with over the last 1-2 years have reappeared. I used FH settings restore which does not seem to have been the storing point for these hints choices. Does anyone know where they ...

Re: FH 6.2 - FindMyPast Hints
The idea to be able to see who has hints is implemented in Ancestry on their tree layout. It also allows you to view all hints or selected types from a menu choice option. Similarly it should be possible for Calico Pie to introduce that in FH.

Backup A S options not working correctly

Queries and Plugins
I have moved all my project data folders to a new computer. However it did not contain the queries and plugins that I had on the old PC. I forgot to export the settings etc which would probably have included them. I am running V5, where can I find the queries and plugins stored as I have an image ba...

List all citations for a Source
Sorry but I think I have found a slight problem with this plug-in. Having run the report for a source, any field with data can be opened by double clicking, e.g Entry Date to find the appropriate record. This works fine if there is only one source for the record. If there is more than one source the...

I would wish for the marriage location to be shown after the marriage date in the Focus window.(between spouses and children sections)
It currently works for birth date and location and death date and location.

Exporting to Ancestry
On the 8th December I successfully exported a GEDCOM to Ancestry. Due to personal reasons I had to delete it today. However I cannot re-upload my tree. I have read all this help on exporting to Ancestry but still have a problem. I have tried exporting with facts etc removed, then cleaning living peo...
