I wondered if you, or anyone else, have tried 3.1.1 with Crossover Mac?
As I am toying with the idea of buying a MAC.

Custom Queries with an And
Thanks John, that is exactly what I needed.
I think the the query system s really powerful. The problem is that it seems to be written for someone who does not program computers for a living.
If you do, then the lack of boolean operators AND,OR,NOT and XOR is somewhat confusing.

Custom Queries with an And
I want to write a custom query that searches for all of the people in the file who have a surname of Smith and I have found on the 1851 Census. I have created a flag for the 1851 Census and attached it to all of the people, both Smith and non-Smith, who I have found. The problem is the the Flag attr...

I don't know you wait ages for an answer and then get two at once. [smile]

Are the children from Val H's first marriage.
If so add a spouse for Val H and then make the children members of that marriage rather than Brian P's marriage to Val H.
Hope this makes sense.

It does eem to be incomplete as surnames begining with R S and T are completely missing from 1851.

Don't forget that the Gedcom file is a text file, so you can always used notepad and the search and replace feature to alter the file.

Gedcom Census v4.2.1 now available
E.g. the 1891 census will automatically show the reference as 'RG12/'.
Would it be better to store the Census ref as 'RG12-'. I do this as I also use the file renaming capability, and I assume that the '/' would cause a problem.

Narrative Report
Hi. What I wanted to do was not a fixed number of generations, I was just using it to explain what I was thinking. I really like the narrative report. By choosing the top of each ancestor tree, and going down to more than the standard 3 levels (e.g. 99), I can print out the whole of the info in the ...

Narrative Report
I really like the Narrative report, but how do I write a query to do the following. The query starts with an input of my daughter. It then traverses back through all of her ancestors until it can't find any more. (e.g. finds my and my wifes grandparents) It then saves these top level ancestors so th...

Tried that, but it doesn't seem to remove all the data.
E.g. it left the data of education and graduation still in it.
Any other ideas?
