Re: Narrative Report - Highlight Mentioned Records tickbox

Picking up on this from your original query, were the pages for the parents in the report in question? If there weren't then of course there wouldn't be any potential links. At the time that I reported this here in the Forum and to support, 'Mentioned Records' did NOT mean a hyperlink, as you canno...

Re: Narrative Report - Highlight Mentioned Records tickbox

Well, to me after all the discussions above, that Highlight Mentioned Records is a misnomer and as useful as a chocolate teapot! We, the users, cannot change who or what gets added as a 'Mentioned Record', nor the colour of the output from Blue. If you do use the Narrative Report in a dvd or web gen...

Re: Narrative Report - Highlight Mentioned Records tickbox

The response from CP Support is : "Mentioned records" are in fact record links. The Records Window and the Book Window does not support record links, but report designers can implement references to records as record links, and if you use one of these reports when generating a website, the record li...

Re: Apparent corruption of Saved Charts

Please be aware that there is a 'bug' in v7.0.3.0 which I have reported in support ref #469349 about the saving of charts, particularly the All Rels. What I found was that I could open up an all relatives chart and everything looks perfect. Now I saved the diagram as a F H Chart. Keep this original ...

Narrative Report - Highlight Mentioned Records tickbox

Does anyone know where I can edit/change which Mentioned Records can be highlighted and to what granularity, and how to change the colour from a default Blue? I cannot find where the tick box is mentioned in the Help system, hence the query. With an unticked Highlight Mentioned Records this is what ...

Thanks Lorna, that has fixed it. I set up the generic footnotes during beta before we had the appends.

Re: V7 PDF creation very slow, creating huge files

BillH I was just wondering if you could clarify this. Are you saying that the Text from Source fields for both sources and citations and also Notes for both sources and citations are being truncated when included in reports? For notes is it just source and citation notes or also other notes as well?...

Re: V7 PDF creation very slow, creating huge files

I, too, received a soft release email for 7.0.3 and it has now meant that I can see what is actually coming out in a report, Descendants by Generation for 15 gens and approx 2,200 individuals, with pictures, sources, etc amounting to over 410 pages. AND, I can save it to pdf in a reasonably good tim...

Re: All Relatives chart has drawn incorrect lines

Yes, Mike. I can get the lines to show apart by moving the Smith lines to the left, so it is a case of overlapping lines when they should not be. I am now going to add the 3 children of John Coote and his wife Emily, which will probably throw up some more lines. Update. Closed down the chart without...

All Relatives chart has drawn incorrect lines

Firstly, I have logged this as an issue with CP #469349, but it has effectively stopped me from responding progress to a client, as I cannot afford to have errors like this! Has anyone else had this kind of issue? In adding a family tree, and wanting to produce an All Relatives Chart, the chart has ...

v7.02 slow to wake up first time of use.

Is anyone else having this, or seen this problem? First time I start FH, then select the project from the project list, click Open project, it takes about 15 seconds to load the gedcom and show the Individuals list. I can then immediately search and select an individual, and do an edit to his name o...

Re: FH Citations and ORA

Rick, I have been using ORA on version 6 from June last year, and was slowly making my way through creating auto-templates, typically for Ancestry, FamilySearch and the GRO UK. Since upgrading to FH version 7 I have been updating my old scripts and trying out new methods using Generic Sources and Ci...

Re: Boxes in text and dates on photos

Took me some time to find that out. Just more inconsistencies when you are so used to the Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V, now you have to remember that if it is fancy, use the bloomin' mouse! I am finding that there are so many things that we cannot do by keystrokes anymore - not good for RSI, and takes so ...

Re: V7 PDF creation very slow, creating huge files

A some time ago in my days of writing php scripts, we used to use a fpdf.php system to generate pdf reports which we could distribute to users. One of the issues that we had to overcome was the use of TTF fonts which were not included in the standard fphp distribution (courier, helvetica and times)....

Adrian, Just done a quick search for you and found Mary Ann Gravett's Death Notice: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSQX-M3GS-4?i=1015&cc=2517051&cat=331262 so this should make a bit of sense to you. Unfortunately, the person who filled in the Death Notice was a son-in-law from Thom...

Re: FH V7 Source Citation Options

Helen, Extra piece of South African complexity. The first doc Form of Information of Death only came into action after 1894. Prior to that the Death Notice was the only death notice/certificate issued, and it has a question about the value of the Estate being more than £300 and whether there was a w...

Re: FH V7 Source Citation Options

Helen, to satisfy your curiosity, and what I mean about having to modify or create DEAs. The one you have will most likely satisfy an English Death certificate, but I would probably tweak it just a little bit to satisfy my needs, as I suspect others may do aswell for anyone who died in England. That...

Re: FH V7 Source Citation Options

Helen, thanks for that. Made me think on how to start the DEA if we are not supposed to run it as a plugin!! Worked it out by Prepare a Citation to an Existing Source, selected my Source and then ran it at the bottom right, and saw that it showed the Death DEA. Ran through it in my sandbox project. ...

from an openstreetmap forum...... " If you mean that you want the names on the map to appear in a different language then the answer is that you can't if you're using our tiles (which the OpenLayers OSM layer does) as we only render one set of tiles and the names are part of the tile images.
