Re: Modify AS Auto-Text Marriage Template
You may already be doing this but, depending on the amount of data you're entering, you could use the 'Other Info' box to enter additional information with the {OTHER} reference in the template.

Re: Modify AS Auto-Text Marriage Template
Anything you enter into the multi-line note box at the bottom of the AS screen will get created as a note attached to the source. An AS auto-text template helps you to generate a transcription of the marriage document and this gets stored as 'text from source' attached to the source. The template us...

Re: Updating Templated Sources Title
If I get time I could add it as a process in AS to mark all templated source titles so they update when FH next loads (you wouldn't have to use AS for anything else
).

Re: Updating Templated Sources Title
If you could find a way to add _AUTO 2 as a sub tag under each title then when FH next loads up your file it would update the titles.

Re: Check for Updates
Agile is all about continuous updates which is hardly the case with AS (unless you get involved in beta testing). Some years I've issued no updates and others a few times a year but certainly not extremely frequently. I would guess I updated AS about 5 times last year which is possibly the most ever...

Re: Residence Date?
If you don't know from the document the residence of the father or mother then you shouldn't be entering those details either manually or using automated tools.

Re: Renaming a Project
If that doesn't work, I'd close any programs that are running (including FH and any file explorer windows you have open) and then do a full restart of the computer and then try the process again.

This would get something closer:

I've made some improvements to the way this form scales which will appear in the next version. Thanks for letting me know about the issue you had.

Re: Auto Source Records Title Problem
The next version of AS won't record short titles if templated sources are used. Although it is probably better to remove the short titles as I mentioned in my previous post, there is also an option in Family Historian that you could untick . Tools->Preferences->Records Window->Use Short Title for So...

Re: Auto Source Records Title Problem
I was just looking in the settings of AS and noticed that the Source Short Title matches exactly what the problem Titles say (see snip). I have a vague memory of wondering what this does (the mouse-over explanation does not seem to work on this item), so I may have checked it, forgot about it, and ...

I'm glad you found a work around for this. The issue should be resolved properly in the next version.

Re: Adding Existing images to sources using AS new version.
Hi Paula Sorry about that. I've found the error (a very small coding error that just needed to me to add a bracket to fix) and so this should work when I next update AS. I think this reflects that this mode isn't really used much anymore as this error will have been there for a couple of years now a...

Re: Confirmation screen needs to be resizable
Dropping the scaling to 125% fixes the problem. Is it a challenge to add scroll bars or make the box resizable in a future update? Thanks. I'm not inclined to make this change - as I said, for me, even at 150% scaling the window displays correctly with the default size 8 font. I did ask what resolu...

Re: Auto Source Records Title Problem
That did it Mike! Thank you so much! Yay!! Now I have to figure out how to fix the 7 entries that won't allow me to change it, but worst case, I can just re-do those 7 entries. There's certainly something odd going on there - if the source title shows in yellow then this means it is auto generated....

Re: Confirmation screen needs to be resizable
Having said that I just set my laptop to 150%: mine also says 150% is recommended but the resolution feels ridiculously low at 150% to me with everything cramped on the screen so I'll set it back to 125%. Actually with the default size 8 the screen scales perfectly well for me at 150%!

Re: Confirmation screen needs to be resizable
And do you know what the resolution of the screen is? I think the auto-scaling doesn't seem to behave very well at 150%. I have my laptop set to 125% with 1920x1080 resolution and even if I increase font sizes to beyond 14, AS scales well enough to still have plenty of space for the various options ...

If you have changed the font size in AS then close AS and reopen it again so it gets a chance to properly change the scaling.

Which version of Windows are you running? Do you know what your Windows scaling is set to? Have you changed the font size in the tools->customise screen? Also do you know what resolution your screen is set to?

Re: Ref ID field
The reference ID doesn't appear in the built-in autotext templates, except for the 'Generic' templates. The reason for this is that the other templates are designed to help to create a transcription of the source and generally a citation reference ID doesn't appear in the document being transcribed....

Re: Error on links in KB page for FH Install errors
I’ve been surprised in the past by how many different versions of the redistributables get installed by different apps. Ideally, they would always be backwards-compatible, so you only need the latest and greatest, but I know that’s not the case in the real world :(. Each version of Visual Studio te...

Mike T, assuming you don't have such a login, can you try?

Re: Error on links in KB page for FH Install errors
I think the correct place to download the redistributable is: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/w ... w=msvc-170. The link to the specific download would be: https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe.
