I think John wants the residence fields for everyone to automatically be filled in with whatever is typed into the place of birth or place of death on the first tab.

I've made a note of this and will consider it as a possible future option.

The standard scaling options in Windows 10 and 11 are 100%, 125%, 150%, 175% and these are found under the display settings. My laptop recommends 150%, my PC 100%. If you right click on the Ancestral Sources shortcut and then choose Properties and then Compatibility, nothing should be ticked and if you click on Change high DPI settings make sure nothing is ticked in there either.

What I find puzzling is that your screenshot of AS running doesn't look too different than my 100% scaling on 1920 x 1080. If I set my desktop to 175% then AS can't display as much information as that. This is how it looks on my screen at 175% scaling and font size 8. Notice how far over the toolbar...

Something on your system is stopping AS from accessing the folder in your documents. It may be that when you install AS you need to right-click on the installer and choose Run As Administrator. Alternatively it may be a security setting. See this Knowledge Base page and the section "Ancestral Source...

Thanks for reporting this. You could just rename them in AS, either by right-clicking them in the tree or using the 'Change name' link.

So you are going to continue to use Windows 7. Madness.
