Re: Narrative Reports Sentence Templates
Yes the wordwrap function in Libre Office isn't great but you just have to add extra spaces where needed to move the text along in the various text boxes and if necessary physically move some text to another line. I've not tried "find and replace in it", I was initially interested because of being a...

Re: Narrative Reports Sentence Templates
Sorry I asked ... Exporting to RTF and using a text editor may be the "prefered" suggestion in these circumstances, but its not the only way. As I've posted on another thread on here, you can export to PDF and open it up in the free Libre Office which then allows you to manually edit the formating a...

Re: Narrative Reports Sentence Templates
Is there any way of removing the automatic full stop at the end of each Fact sentence template (whether standard or custom) and stop the first word in each sentence being capitalised? That would fix my issue albeit I would have to manually edit the Fact sentences where required, but to be honest I'd...

Re: Narrative Reports Sentence Templates
Having had a play with Shelley's suggestion, and ignoring the issue with the Baptism Source, it works fine apart from when there is no Birth Fact. In that circumstance, the Narrative Report shows, rather than "He/She" "[Individual's name]" was baptised {place} {location}, and then the next sentence ...

Re: Narrative Reports Sentence Templates
What I'd like is affectively to merge the two Facts into one sentence instead of there being two. Shelley's suggestion does what I am looking for but there is the issue of the missing Baptism Source when it applies. Mike, I really just want to join the sentences for the two Facts with an "and" not a...

Narrative Reports Sentence Templates
I've been reading about Functions and searching on FHUG but can't find anything to answer my query, unless of course I've missed it. Is it possible to combine two Facts into one Narrative Report sentence? What I'd like to avoid repetition is to have a sentence that reads "She/He was born [date] [loc...

Re: Lookup Missing Census Facts
While I can see the benefits of the query, unfortunately with four fairly large trees (the largest being just under 26k), I don't think the query reporting functionality is really practical with little filtering available and a huge list of results. I appreciate that a query could be run against spe...

Re: Lookup Missing Census Facts
OK fair point. You've answered another question I had about whether it checks for a full date or just the year. In the case of US census, I'm assuming you are using the dates shown in AS? Unfortunaely I have found that the actual schedules often show different dates depending on where they were take...

Re: Lookup Missing Census Facts
One slight anomaly and its probably because its a custom fact. I have a family that emigrated to New Zealand in 1926 and have a custom Emigration Family fact for this (for reasons I've mentioned previously). The plugin obviously doesn't recognise the fact so has thrown them up as having a missing 19...

Much appreciated.

Re: Lookup Missing Census Facts
Adrian, I do agree standard Census statements can be repetitive. I'm using the note sections to expand the detail, including occupation because I don't like the way the occupation attribute appears in Narrative Reports, so while there is some repetition its not as bad and in any case, I'm using the ...

Lookup Missing Census Facts
Is there any possiblity that in the future the Lookup Missing Census Facts could also check if there is a Census Family Fact for individuals please, rather than including them in the results report? I know many on here don't think its a good idea to use the standard Census Family Fact, but I have fo...

Re: Italics, bold & underlining
The only problem with exporting a report to RTF format is the loss of image positioning in the report. I've found one way around it by exporting to PDF and then opening up in LibreOffice. It treats the file as if it was something like desktop publishing format and allows you to bold words where requ...

Re: FH 6.1 Released
This raises another question. Why is it not possible to use a frame link (Link to Detail) for a Citation Media? As far as I can see this cannot be done at all, ether in the Edit Media dialog or in the Media Window where the options for frame links do not include citations. I imagine the ability to ...

I think the focus delay may well have coincided with an autosave, its happened twice but can't generally get it to repeat.

Re: Source Records Window Column Customisation
Thanks Mike, I agree with Peter that does work well. I can't replicate Peter's error either assuming I'm reading the details correctly. That said, when I select one of the Record Where Used cells and click focus, there is quite a delay in it executing that command and opening the Individual Record. ...

Re: Source Records Window Column Customisation
I have to admit I'd not noticed the Pics etc colum and yes while it does show the count, which is useful, I like the Media Image column because it shows you the name of the first media file attached. Thanks Mike I've just tried the new Where Used Record Links plugin and works OK. Would it be possibl...

Re: Source Records Window Column Customisation
I'm a little confused, but then some new medication is playing havoc at the moment so not unexpected. Mike, could you elaborate please on how you are thinking of showing the Plugin results when you refer to media showing as "3" or "2/1" as I'm a little confused? Personally, what would be help...

Re: New Pre-release: 6.1.4
Thanks to John and David regarding the thumbcache, that has definitely speeded up the opening of my largest project. I shall just have to remember to delete the file again if it starts getting delays on opening.

Re: New Pre-release: 6.1.4
Nick, I was just curious whether John had experienced any delay issues. I'm not using AS, having decided for reasons I've posted previously on the forum its just as quick for me to enter the information manually. I wasn't being critical and I do appreciate you provide AS as a free add-on, it just se...

Re: New Pre-release: 6.1.4
I have not had any delay issues with AS at all. The only other issue I have is with the size of the thumbcache file (Which was 1.5Gb before I found out how to work round it for dropbox) Mind you my Laptop is an i7 with 12Gb Ram and the desktop is an i5 with 12Gb ram Might possibly be spec of laptop...

Re: New Pre-release: 6.1.4
That's a rather large project John. Although if I was to combine my four grandparent's projects together, the total number of Individual Records would be currently 58360, albeit currently with considerably fewer media as I am working my way updating the projects. I chose to keep them split into four...
