Re: Map Life Facts V3.6

Mike, thanks again for applying your knowledge to provide a solution. It seems that none of the H1 headings on the reports I've selected (other than maps) are functional hyperlinks therefore your solution to make ALL H1 Hyperlinks (visited and not) the same as ALL non H1 Hyperlinks works just fine, ...

Re: Creating a web site with FH

Thanks Helen - you have a well presented site - pretty! I'm going to try and keep things standard, supported and simple (moving away from PHPGEDVIEW) even if that means loosing a little function. And actually, with some bending and compromise, the output from FH is not too shabby and very straightfo...

Re: Creating a web site with FH

12) I have ~90 items in my table of contents and wish to organise these. At present I use ALL CAPS for headings (no formatting exists) and a web link to "." to create a blank line (no blank lines exist). It would be good to have one additional report item called "Heading" that uses the standard CSS ...

Re: Map Life Facts V3.6

Thanks Mike...I appreciate your dedication and passion ! I've done some testing... OK - I confirm that events are now filtered on map pages - it appears that events excluded from both family and individual pages (e.g. education) are now also excluded from map pages. OK - I confirm the FH header sect...

Re: Map Life Facts V3.6

OK...and also should invoke the optional mystyle.css (I guess FH don't want us messing with the standard CSS !).

Re: Creating a web site with FH

Mike...excellent, the simple change of "button" to "submit" fixes it in Chrome and IE11 (8 still dies as expected). Many thanks. All I need to do is remember after every site creation to replace files with my three custom files: mystyle.css (point 11 above) mapfacts.css (until a new version comes) _...

Re: Creating a web site with FH

11) On creating a web, it appears all files are first deleted from the output folder. Perhaps the mystyle.css, which is not FH generated, should not be deleted as it may have taken some effort to design! It might be an idea to always add a reference to mystyle.css in every file rather than optionall...

Re: Map Life Facts V3.6

Mike, yes I may have used B in the code tags. Sorry, new to this forum. I've made some progress. Clearly, the same use as FH of all tags would be a good idea and adding the mystyle.css reference would be necessary where it exists. However, I had the two problems with headings: When I remove the H1 t...

Re: Map Life Facts V3.6

After resetting at Step 7 I confirm the <B> tags have now gone...the same formatting issues remain as we probably expect. The <div id="header"> and H1 tags remains in both the FH and Map pages. In particular the main heading has lines above and below (not on FH). No idea why...something else in the ...

Re: Map Life Facts V3.6

Mike, your input and indeed efforts developing plugins for free are respected and much appreciated as are your prompt responses to my observations. If it were easy these things would be part of the package or laymen like me would write their own :) I agree, using tags in the same manner as FH would ...

Mike...your response was really helpful, thanks for your time. I've emailed support@ with all bugs and enhancement requests referring to this thread. 1. Re: Map Life Facts V3.6

Mike, thanks, I'm glad you can see something and have had some thoughts on excluding certain events. I'm not aware I do anything special in step 7 of FH web generation that affects the H1 tag presented in the Map file. I don't know about the B tags either. Rather, in version 6 (and 5?) it seems CSS ...

Creating a web site with FH

I use FH to maintain data and connect to media. I upload the GEDCOM to web sites for record and tree matching. I have used PHPGEDVIEW to present info however this is less straightforward than I'd like to use and to maintain so I am trying to get the most out of the standard web site features of FH. ...

Re: Map Life Facts V3.6

Mike, many thanks. I think H1 is used in two places which is why the main heading screws up? <div id="header"> <img src="Joseph%20Muller%20Small.jpg" alt="logo" class="logo" /> <h1>Family tree of Muller, Miller, Dessau, Veit, etc.</h1> </div> <div id="menubar"> <ul> <li><span><a href="index.h...

Map Life Facts V3.6

I think I now have integration between the FH and Map html files. I can see a link is added to the FAM pages directing to the Map pages. 1) It appears the map files need regenerating every time the web is recreated? 2) I can map addresses or places but have a security issue. In FH I only publish cer...

PDF Output not enabled (again)

Solved. Yes that's actually what I was trying next, I also deleted other stuff and all the old NOVA files one of which was locked (so in use). A clean V5 install then worked. I suspect, FH was not managing to install the printer due to port remnants from previous installs. Now I need to try and reme...

PDF Output not enabled (again)

Thanks for reply: 1) Yes Win Server - worked fine previously 2) Calico already copied on these posts 3) Clean V5 install also tried already Although the PDF printer was uninstalled, I note 2 ports still exist for each of Nova 6 and 7. I'm trying to delete everything but one 7 port will not go... ......

PDF Output not enabled (again)

This matter is now frustrating me a lot. I've now upgraded to V5 which did not fix the problem (there is still no PDF printer). I've also tried to uninstall V4 and Nova 6.1 then install 5 only but again no PDF printer appears (and no Nova in installed programs). To add to my previous post, my event ...

DF Output not enabled when SAVE DIAGRAM AS...using W2K3 and version 4.1.3 This used to work but not now. I've reinstalled (over the top) old version 4.0.2 which reinstates Nova PDF 6.1 and a printer and all works. When I upgrade to 4.1.3 the printer disappears. I seem to remember both 6.1 and 7 show...

General consideration of the effect of name change

Eventually found it...its an array so 2 for the second and <99 selects the last.

For example:

INDI.NAME[<99]:SURNAME_FIRST

Shows the last alternate name and blank if there is only 1.
