Maybe it's a bug, as you can 'Add' a marker set, and add individuals to that set, but as you say, despite it going to the pick list, it disappears after restarting.
It's worth opening a case with CP to see what they say?

Re: Upgrade
Yes I am the one who bought a new pc in April which runs Win 10 and can run 11 but I'll leave that for now on 10. Strangely I endeavored to download the new upgrade to 7.0.17.1 from the FH Site but it isn't possible, however from my program it worked instantly this time! So now I have it fully upda...

Re: Upgrade
What version of Windows are you running? There are known problems with Windows 7 and 8 which mean that using https://www.family-historian.co.uk/install7 as already suggested by Mike Tate is your best option. I believe this is also Johnr65 who had issues with logging in and created a new FHUG login,...

Go to this page and download the installer https://www.family-historian.co.uk/install7

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.6
I'm not entirely happy yet with the way this facility is selected with the check boxes - I added this fairly quickly last night and thought I'd rather get it tested and work on it while the testing continues. However, are you aware you can click the little down-arrow expand button once you've selec...

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.6
Thanks again Nick One thing that strikes me, perhaps a minor thing, with the Census conversion tool, is that once you select a Census to Convert, should you want to go back to the initial conversion tool screen, you can only close the tool and re-open it. EG, you had Plain selected, select a census,...

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.5.7
Nick will confirm, but as these are 'beta test' versions, AS won't find any updates either automatically or manually. Mine doesn't give that error, but just states that I am up to date. [Edit] Suffice to say I haven't used AS over the weekend, so I haven't seen if AS detects the update or if the man...

Thanks for the views expressed about the impossibility or at least impracticality of a definitive and collaborative tree. I think those views reflect your own experiences, and are not shared by everyone. It is probably a case of ‘different strokes for different folks’, i.e., everyone should use wha...

When you open FH, before going to open the GEDCOM, if you go to File>Project Window, is there a project with a green tick, and is it's path related to Google Drive?

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.5.5
I've now released another update. I had some 1921 census records passed to me and I realised it would be useful if AS was able to suggest ages in years and months for those individuals who have their month of birth recorded already. So I've now added this as an option to census templates and update...

Re: Help Files
I also use the same method as others have stated! I download the census image, open in my image viewer and add the entry in AS with both side by side! Adding the image was always my last task and AS handily reminds me if I forget! I’d never realised I could do it the other way as I’m used to other p...

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.5.2
AS listed any sources that have plain source text and this does have source text but with just those 3 words in it and it has converted it. It just turns out the source text wasn't actually a transcription of the source! In these cases I would use the grid and the tools above it to manually transcr...

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.5.2
Here's the source text view Nick Well in that case AS has done a perfect job of converting the source text! The source text just says "From Census Image" and AS has put those 3 words into 3 columns. What else would you expect it to do?! :) OK. Fair enough Nick, but why has AS highlighted this one f...

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.5.2
If you mean from AS Nick, it’s blank! I can't really see how that's possible! There must be some source text in order for it to have found the words "From Census Image"? Just to be clear, the conversion process only looks at the original source text to carry out the conversion so if the source text...

I've got something similar to BillH above, but have no text at all. All my other censuses converted like a dream, but I'm left with this one.
All the family members appear to have this census attached to them as expected though

Re: Opening image files
I find that Win11 rather more than previous systems, seems intent on pushing the user towards MS apps rather than third party ones at almost every opportunity. (It seems to be worse than even Samsung on android.) For instance I don't want Edge as my primary browser, but it's an ongoing battle to ke...

Re: Census UK Tab - my take

In this folder are loads of sub folders with surnames including census and BMD certificates. Using AS I add the appropriate image to the person I am adding details ...
