PeterR, Thanks for the address of the PB-INDI.fhdata file. Yes this does correspond with my file location. It contains the details of the military and census tabs downloaded from the FH download site. Frustrated that I couldn't get the tabs to appear with the field data and labels, I had a go myself...

Thanks for your advice Di! Here's a good one, I have a relative whose name is Samuel and on one of the censuses he's down as Jameel. That took bit of sorting out. I also have problems with surnames John and Johns. Kind regards MrB
