Re: Help with deciphering a name

Agreed, it's Jhon. In the days of largely phonetic spelling which we're all interested in, quite sensible and understandable (depending on local accent). But, don't discount the possibility of Jonathan/Jonathon as the 'true' name of the individual.

Re: Running Family Historian successfully on Mac OS X

Jane, Thanks. I'll try to put together a step-through process this week for installing FH4/5 with the Wineskin app and see if I can blend it into the current Knowledge Base page design. Technically, it should be possible to put together a pre-prepared Wineskin Wrapper (referred to as a 'Bottle' in C...

As I've had some spare time over the past couple of weeks I decided to experiment a bit more with the alternative methods of installing and running Family Historian versions (and some other Windows Genealogy software) on Mac OS X. As I have licenses for Windows 7 and 8/8.1 my main method is to run a...

Re: Help with a Latin translation any one?

Jane, That was quite possibly the final stage her conversion to the Catholic faith prior to the marriage. At that time I don't think they could have married in a Catholic church if they weren't both of that faith. If her parents were William and Mary then, from FreeSearch, she was first baptised int...

Sylvia,

Instructions are here: fhugdownloads:contents:template_census_canada_1921|> Ancestral Sources Template ~ Census Canada 1921.

You have to import from Ancestral Sources, not copy to.

Good luck.

Family Tree Analyser

There seems to be some confusion here about Family Tree Analyser software. That program is not a web based utility and only works as a Windows installation - It does not work on other operating systems as it requires .Net 4. The only possibility of running it on Mac/Linux systems would be through vi...
