Thanks Nick - I'll give that a try later today

Adding images
I have noticed some intermittent odd behaviour when adding images using the latest version of AS. For example, when completing a Census entry, I click on the Add/View Images ... link and the Image Viewer Dialog box to add the image appears in the foreground. I move the cursor to the Windows Explorer...

I have the same problem too, with a NAS this is directly cabled on a Gigabit switch. My PC has a Gigabit newtork card, and the NAS has two Gigabit connections to the switch, aggregated onto a single link. I will try the changes Mike suggested to see if it makes any difference.

Re: Cemetery Abstracts - what are they..?
Adrian, I think there is a distinction between a marriage record and a marriage certificate. A marriage record is simply that , a record of a marriage having taken place. Pallet's marriage register is perhaps an example of just that. A marriage bond or allegation indicates an intent to engage in mar...

Re: Narrative reports text size and other questions
I've just received a response from CP to say that this issue has now been fixed. I've downloaded an updated file, and it's working ok.

Re: Wide Tables
As the saying goes, there's more than one way to skin a cat - if you don't mind the reference to feline taxidermy ;) My first thoughts were that it is more common for narrative reports to be printed on A4, and given the relative ease of working with census templates, the column break would be a simp...

A problem I have, which indidentally pre-dates the release of FH V7, is that when using AS to generate auto text from, specifically, census entries, and predominantly US and Canada census entries, the generated text does not fit on a page. The table requires subsequent manual editing so that the cen...

Re: Narrative reports text size and other questions
The narrative report text size issue has been reported to CP. The have been able to re-create the issue, and acknowledged it as a problem. I'm awaiting a further response.

Re: Narrative reports text size and other questions
Mike, I haven't reported the superscript problem yet as it is a little more complicated than it appears at first sight. The superscripts clearly do not increase in size on screen when the typeface is increased in size. However, they do when creating an RTF copy of the report, but not when printing t...

Re: Narrative reports text size and other questions
I have successfully recreated the first problem I mentioned about the narative report typeface reverting to the default settings following a note formatted to use a different typeface. Reverting the note to the default typeface and layout settings removes the problem. The behaviour is consistent and...

Narrative reports text size and other questions
I have just generated an individual narrative report for the first time using FH7. As the text size for the narrative body is far too small, I increased the size in the Report Options to 11 which is the typeface size I would use for any normal narrative-style document. The works fine until note text...

Re: Electoral Roll
This is when adding to a 1932 Electoral Register template:
The first three emply names are various spouses. The last empty line is the unmarried mother of the three individuals listed.

Re: Electoral Roll
Thanks for the replies. I've tried the Electoral Register entry with the sample project and have obtained a similar result, as shown in the attached screenshot. I'm running Win 10 Pro V10.0.19041 with all updates applied on a Dell XPS 8300 with 12Gb memory. I am actually amending the templates as I ...

I've just noticed that the Electoral Register template generates a Census entry. This is surely is not correct. I would have thought that it should generate a Residence fact?

Electoral Roll
I've just tried to use the Electoral Roll template for the first time in AS7, launching AS7 from the FH7 plugin. The first question is what is the relationship between the Address associated with the Place at the head of the form, and the Address on the individual entries? Which address is used to p...

Re: Regular Maintenance Procedure
I've recently used FTAnalyzer to check my GEDCOM. It pulled up a disconcertingly large number of errors that have crept in over the past 15 years of research that I'm now busy correcting. It has proved very useful in highlighting incorrect census entries, addresses, and places as well as questionabl...

Re: FH slow to load
FH7 is noticeably slower to load and save the file I work on on a daily basis. The project is stored on a NAS drive. I do have autosave turned on (every 15 minutes as a precaution) as I have had FH7 crash on a couple of occasions, but exectly why I can't be sure, except once I was editing source cit...

Re: Creating a custom source template
Thanks Jane. It seems that simply editing the fields doesn't update the template, though. It is necessary to View/Sync to complete any changes. Shame I can't put the Undo function on the toolbar

Creating a custom source template
I have been trying to create a custom source template to record details of admissions and discharges for London schools. Having set up the initial template and then trying to use it , if the field name is too long, the data entry field is not displayed. Other than changing the field name, is there a...
