Project Description
I'm not sure if this question has been asked before - I coudn't find anything on a quick search. As with many people, I have adopted my own conventions whilst researching, and my research may have very clear boundaries. For example, on a birth entry where I have only the registration district as a p...

Re: Empty boxes on a diagram
I have an instance of 5 children being born to one mother all by different fathers. The identity of only two fathers is known for certain: of the others one is reputed to be a native American, but that is family legend, and probably not true; one is reputed to be Czech, but probably Polish; and the ...

Re: Empty boxes on a diagram
Oops, I did do a quick search but didn't pick up on earlier conversations about this. Illegitimate means, in my cases so far, child of an unnamed father before the mother marries, or the child of an unnamed father when the mother is married; Lorna's analysis is quite correct. If the empty box is hid...

Re: Empty boxes on a diagram
I have just noticed that this behaviour only seems to occur if the child is added when the mother is recorded as married.

Empty boxes on a diagram
I have several instances of illegitimate children in my tree, and when I display, say, a descendent chart, the "fathers" for these children appear as empty boxes alongside the mother's box on the diagram. Rather than having to hide them every time I refresh the diagram (frequently if using AS), is t...

Re: Recorded sex
I was adopted, a fact I discovered in my teens, and which is no secret to anyone, either in my family or circle of friends. My mother didn't actually tell me until several years after I found out, and I didn't let her know that I knew until she told me. My adotive mother was married three times, and...

Recorded sex
What are the recommendadtons for recording the sex of an individual who was registerd as male at birth, subsequently married and had children, but now identifies as female and may have undergone gender re-assignemt surgery?

Re: Linking text added to a diagram with an individual
If by Connect option you are referring to the icon labelled Connect then that is the 'Family Connection Mapper' and has nothing to do with connecting lines and boxes. Yes, I had sort of worked that out :) Not being able to anchor added text with one or more individuals on a diagram is something of ...

Linking text added to a diagram with an individual
Is it possible to link or connect a manually added text note on a diagram to one or more specific individuals on the same diagram? The Connect option doesn't seem to work, and I can't seem to anchor lines to nodes on the individual's box and the text box.

Re: Relationship Pool
Thanks, Mike. My diagrams show all the families that I can identify as originating from a specific parish. Therefore I may have several families on a diagram where I cannot connect the root person of one family to the root person of another - at the moment.

Relationship Pool
Simple question, is there any way of including the relationship pool number in boxes on a diagram? I am working on a localised study where there are families that cannot be linked at the moment, so I have many different relationship pool numbers. I have these families displayed in a single diagram, ...

Re: Individual property box child death dates
I think, Mike, that you may have answered your own question with your reply, in that the focus window actually displays too much information. I am not interested in occupations, or multiple generations, or even burial or cremation dates; I wish to focus on a single couple, their children and their d...

Re: Individual property box child death dates
Thanks Mike, Adrian. Adrian, I have made the modifications as you describe. Mike, I must admit I use the focus window hardly at all. I use, principally the Records winow, or the Ancestor and Descendant diagram. The reason behind my question is that just recently I have been working on a family where...

Individual property box child death dates
Is it possible on the individual property box to have both the birth and death date shown for the individual's children? If so, any clues as to how I can do this?

FH7 Crashes
Has anyone seen this behaviour with V7? An incorrect date is spotted on a media record associated with a source citation. Using the blue arrow on the source panel to reach the source record, then clicking on the Media tab, followed by the blue arrow again to get to the media record the date is corre...

Re: Narrative Report Source Text Table issues
Hi Mike, I have tried swapping to landsacpe and reducing the text size to try and overcome this problem, but it does not make for an attractive or particularly readable report. I have touched on this with Nick on the AS board, and suggested that within AS we could nominate a column as a "break colum...

Narrative Report Source Text Table issues
Apologies if this has been asked before, but does anyone have any practical suggestions as to how to circumvent RTF autotext tables from being truncated on the right-hand side of a page in the Sources section of narative reports? I wish to send a narrative report to a co-researcher, but manually edi...
