Hi Peter/Hilary. Thanks for the advice. All merged into one source now!
Regards, Martin.

Duplicate sources
I've just discovered that I have two sources, which are the same albeit with two different names: Documentation from Jock Hazledine; Jock Hazledine documentation. They have 87 and 571 citations respectively. Is there a quick way that the two sources can be merged or will it have to be done manually?...

Estimating death
Thanks Hilary. It appears that that box had been ticked already. Could it be that although I can see details of my living relatives, other GR members can't?

Estimating death
I bit the bullet and uploaded my gedcom file. The problem is it's showing everyone - living and dead. I've looked at some of my 'shared' trees and some show full details also and some show hidden relatives. I had a quick look as to how to suppress living relatives but couldn't find it on the GR site...

Estimating death
Nick, I added a 'Died' fact for one of my records where no death date was known and, yes, it did show on the Facts page. Although this may help with the Genes Reunited problem, the fact that he had died didn't show in the tree diagram. Is there any way the 'Died' aspect can be shown on a diagram? Re...

Estimating death
Thanks. I'll try uploading a gedcom file and have a look at the results. I don't know if this is on an FH wish list but I remember the first family tree program that I bought in 1998. It wasn't terribly good by today's standards but it did have the very useful facility of being able to input 'Dead' ...

Estimating death
At the moment I have a manually produced family tree on the Genes Reunited website. If I were to load up my FH-generated gedcom file, I would attract a lot more links with other users. The problem is to preserve the privacy of all those people still alive. Obviously some people's alive/dead status c...

V4 download - how long does it take to arrive?
As I thought - had an email from Simon saying that the upgrade details had been sent to me on 30th April but to the erroneous email address (as mentioned above). Anyway, everything fine and I've now got version 4 up and running with no problems.

V4 download - how long does it take to arrive?
Thanks Jocelyn. I've just contacted FH again quoting your situation and suggesting they check to see if they have my correct email address. Here's hoping...

V4 download - how long does it take to arrive?
Eight days ago I purchased the online V4 upgrade. Unfortunately (as I've mentioned elsewhere on this site) I misquoted my email address (I erroneously omitted a character) when ordering the software. When I printed out my receipt and noticed the error, I duly filled out an online form with Kagi (the...

V3-V4 Upgrade
To add insult to injury I registered for the download and in my exuberance to get FH version 4, I missed out a character from my email address. I only noticed this after I had made the order. I contacted Kagi who handle the downloads and told them of my error using a standard form on their website. ...

V3-V4 Upgrade
Obviously the download seems the most attractive financially. I have FH set up on two different PCs and transfer data between the two. Am I able to download the upgrade onto both computers with no problem? I'm assuming that the 'key' that I'm issued with counts for both PCs.

Error in downloading ver. 5.4
I've had version 5.3 on my PC for some time now. I visited FHUG for the first time in a while and discovered that there'd been an updated version (5.4) for some months now. I tried to download and run the program but kept getting (I tried several times) the following error message: 'The setup files ...

Use of Certificate Binders
Like Jane, I scan all my certs and can them view them on screen from the relevant sources in FH. I file the original copies in date order in the three separate groups (B,M & D) in acid-free envelopes.

Transferring of photos problem
Thanks a lot Mike - mission accomplished! Everything's now running as expected. One thing though: when I was running the query, I noticed several photos in the database that had no record links to them. Curiously, there was even a picture of a friend's wedding, which was nothing to do with my geneal...

Transferring of photos problem
I'm not sure if there's a way round this problem: I've been using FH for a couple of years now and have added several non-embedded photos to my FH data file. I've now purchased a laptop and have successfully transferred the FH software, data file and photo folders & jpegs to the new PC. Unfortunatel...
