I have Photoshop Elements 2.0 and it's great for joining two scans of an extra long certificate. More often than not the program will 'marry' the two halves up automatically and you shouldn't be able to see the join.

Nick, I think you're right - it's not the GC Editor that was at fault. It'll probably go down as one of those one-off computer problems that happens from time to time. Thanks for your help on this.
