Sometimes I have to have several tries before I can sign on. Maybe if you leave it for a while and try again you may be more successful.KSS said:

Personally I find this a bit messy as rather than just linking an image to a single place (the source) you need to link it to every citation that refers to the article. Another problem with option d is how, for example, ...

Paula, My understanding is that a political agent is someone who works for an MP or would-be MP and (amongst other thing) organises his/her election campaign. Was there a general or Local election around the time of his death, when he may have been devoting much of his time to political activities. ...

Thanks to the link in the Newspapers Online Trial thread I have now come across a selection of articles relating to various relatives (mostly on my husband's side - my Ag labs don't seem to have made it to print). I am looking for some advice as how best to link the images of these articles to the p...

What was the mother's maiden name?
(Sorry, if you've already written it in one of you earlier posts, but it's getting very late and my brain's not functioning well.)

In my researches I have come across various 'odd' first names which have turned out to be mother's or grandmother's maiden name. Could this be the case here?

Census - finding enumeration district
On http://www.findmypast.com you can search by address or person. The address search is available for the 1841, 1861, 1871 and 1891 censuses. It doesn't, of course, help if the street has been renamed. margarita P.S. Just realised that you want 1881 census so this doesn't help - but it may help othe...

Me too, please.
I have used the current version a lot. I find it very useful for sorting out peculiar place names which appear on Census records.

Testing New Version of Gedcom Census
Nick,
I would like to try it out. I am using the current version and think it's great.
I don't think I have many census entries to make but I am sure that I can round up some strays.

Is there any way on this Forum of finding all the post made made by me, or, indeed, any other member? Someone asked a question to which I know I had written the answer in response to another query. Maybe it's just my post-Christmas brain not working, but I couldn't find this previous posting witho...

With regard to 'Laster / Knoter' - as father is a Boot Maker, could this be something to do with making shoe-lasts? Just a thought.

Nick, I have recorded several Censuses using Gedcom Census (5.4)and it's excellent. I used the previous versions as well but this is even better. I wish I had read your advice about automatic naming of images about 100 Censuses ago. I have started using your system now and it's much quicker to do an...
