Do you mean that you have saved all your images, information etc. to a tree on Ancestry and now wish to move it away from there?
If so, I'm sorry, I can't help but maybe someone else will be able to if they know what you are trying to do.

maggie

I was on the point of asking the same question, but I think you phrased it better.
Would you please let us know if you follow Peter's advice and what the outcome is. It seems a bit daunting to me. Will you be the guinea pig?

maggie

Ancestors amp; Descendants Diagram
I have found the Ancestors & Descendants Diagram showing the siblings very useful when searching for Census entries. It's often possible to identify people any siblings they are living with. If you want to print a diagram showing just ancestors & descendants you can hide the siblings you don't want...

Using Patrick's method, how do you attach images for separate events?

Grandma,
There's a thread here http://tinyurl.com/yzx5qjj which explains how to do it. It's not as tricky as it first seems - I've done it so it must be easy!!
The most important thing to remember is to BACKUP your GEDCOM before you start - just in case anything goes wrong.

maggie

To Do List
In the 'Named List' panel there is already a 'To Do' list - if not, you can add one. You could add one or both of the parents from the 1911 census to the list and put a note on the field at the bottom about what you wish to research. Alternatively you could create a 'To Do flag which you could add t...

Thanks. Can't see how I missed that....
To my mind the natural thing to do is to select the boxes and right click and select the option you want from there - but that's not the way it works here.

Military records from Ancestry
Thank you both for your replies. You both confirmed what I was thinking about doing: saving each page as a media item and then linking them all to a source e.g. Military Record 234 BLOGGS Joe 1914-18. I will then treat that source as any other as Brian says, but birth certificates etc. usually just ...

Format name for 'old style certificates'
I haven't got access to my certificates at the moment so I can't measure one.
However foolscap paper measures 8.5 × 13.5 inches (216 × 343 mm)if that's any help.

maggie

Military records from Ancestry
I have found various Military records (e.g. WW1 Service Records, WW1 Pension Records). I've 'saved' them in Ancestry at the moment because I don't know what's best to do with them as far as FH is concerned. Do I save each image separately and add them to a source for the relevant person. Or do I s...

I seem to remember having a similar problem myself. I think I ended up just 'hiding' the empty box on the diagram as I couldn't find any other way of getting rid of it. (Right click on the empty box and select 'Hide' - apologies if you knew this, but others maybe don't.) I will be interested to se...

Maybe I'm missing the point here, but don't you just need to either: a) change the order of the source citations in the individual's Property Box, using the up and down arrows or b)click Re-order-out-of-Sequence-Data on the Tools Menu Would this not put the Census information in the right order in t...

Jane, It was me being stupid. When I looked at the list page I could see no way of voting. It wasn't until I ran my cursor over the titles that I realised that you could click on those and go to a voting page. I think I was looking for somewhere on the list page that said 'Vote Here'.
