I have tried this out and confirm that there seems to be a problem with the death address field supplanting the cause of death in individual and family group reports. (Narrative reports seem OK though).
This must be a bug in V5. Woops!

Add unrelated individual
My own approach is to get A.S. to create new individuals in the gedcom if they are definitely related (e.g. a previously unknown 'Niece' or 'Grandson' of the head of the household) but I would not ask AS to create new individuals if all I know about them at the moment is that they were my ancestor'...

Root Box Alignment in Charts/Diagrams
I have spent some more time looking at this and have tried to reproduce the problem. I have used a family where an individual with no siblings and no children has a spouse whose box contains a lot of text (as in your original example). I created a diagram (I used an All Relatives diagram) and saved ...

Root Box Alignment in Charts/Diagrams
Does this only happen when the box in question is already quite big? I wonder if the reason is that expanding the box downwards would mean expanding the width of the whole generation stripe. That in turn would shift all the boxes below the generation stripe, so that some might no longer fit on the p...

I got the impression that the Tan top bar indicated that there was NO Death Date and the Individual may still be Alive. I don't think so, Mike. I have managed to get the tan top bar for some individuals who have a definite death date, as well as for some who are still living. I think we'd better ...

Bill, I exported 4 sample individuals (for whom the timeline produces 4 different types of display) and included their immediate family in the export, so that the deaths of the parents and the births of the children would in theory be included in the timeline. I checked before I sent it to Jane and ...

What I have done is create a source record called (e.g.) 'John Smith: military service records'. In the note field of the source record I have entered a summary of the various documents, in chronological order, very similar to the transcript at the end of your PDF. I then attached the images of t...

Bill, this sounds like yet another variation of the display problems I have described in this thread:http://www.fhug.org.uk/cgi-bin/index.cgi?action=forum&board=luaplugins&op=display&num=6065 I haven't had this particular problem (when the body of the page is blank for some of my individuals the top...

I'm finding some odd inconsistencies in the pages produced by this plugin. (Using the 'Quick View Current Record' option: I haven't tried selecting multiple records yet). 1. For some individuals the strip across the top is tan coloured between Birth and Death, and shows ages in 5 year increments. L...

Using plugins safely
I'd like to add that I personally would be happy to trust anything written by Calico Pie, Jane Taubman, Mike Tate (Tatewise) or Peter Richmond - in other words, almost all of the plugins there at the moment. Further, any Plugins which were uploaded before the release of V5 have been tested by some o...

Uninstalling Beta removes Sample Project
This is a note for the benefit of any other beta testers who may, like me, have installed the full V5 over V4 before uninstalling the Beta5. I noticed a couple of days later that the FH Sample project was not listed in the Projects window. Investigation showed that the .fh_proj file for the sample...

V4.1.3 to 5
It was announced last November that V5 would be coming out in Feb 2012 (later delayed until March) and that anyone who bought a boxed copy of the FULL version of V4 from one of the participating stockists after 10 November 2011 would qualify for a free upgrade to V5 when it came out. Unfortunately ...

I don't think that is the case, John. The FULL version will install over any previous version, but the UPGRADE versions only do a single step, from the previous version (i.e. from V4 to V5, but not from V3 to V5). This is what Simon said in a post on the FH mailing list a few weeks ago: 'We do sell ...

Flags/Name Lists in Sources
Your question seems to be in 2 parts: 1. 'Is it possible to have a column on the SOURCES screen to show which Flag or Named List the INDIVIDUAL belongs to...'. Do you mean a column on the INDIVIDUALS tab of the records window? 2. 'Is it possible to have a column on the Sources screen to show which F...

AS source titles
1. If there are inconsistencies in the format of your census source titles it may be because you have sometimes saved the data without entering anything in one of the fields which are used in your source title template - for example you may have omitted the place or the reference number. Once the so...

Looking at Tommy's posting of 08/03 at 23.03, I think the confusion is arising because his existing custom attribute is an attribute of the COUPLE marrying, and the value for that is presumably the names of the witnesses, while the AS attribute is an attribute of the WITNESSES, for which the value i...

Loss of census date from AS
Hi Nick, I have discovered that there is a particular situation in which AS can lose the date of a census . The scenario is not one I am likely to repeat (cant remember why I was doing it, anyway!) so it doesnt worry me but I thought you might want to know about it. This was the sequence of events...

Marital status after second marriage
Hi Nick, I've just noticed that a red 'thumbs down' has appeared against this topic so I guess this means it won't be 'tweaked' in the next version. It's a very minor issue because the marital status can easily be changed. I was just slightly surprised that on one hand AS cleverly takes account of t...

Marital status after second marriage
Apologies if this has been reported before: I've had a look but have not found a similar looking topic.
I have noticed that when creating a census entry, if an individual is recorded whose first spouse has died, A.S. assumes their marital status is Widowed, even if they have subsequently re-married.

Search and Replace Text: box re-sizing
When the Search and Replace Text plugin is run with 'confirm every change' ticked, the box displaying the text can be re-sized for easier viewing of long lines of text. However it reverts to a narrow size for the very next instance viewed. Can it be made to retain the size at least for the duration ...
