FH on PDA

Thanks Jeremy
I will have a look at the palm and the hp with windows mobile.
I think a palm device would be really useful when away from home.

Timeline reporting

I have just bought genelines but I amhaving a slight problem.
Genelines seems to be using old data when I open my gedcomfile.
If I make cahnegs in Family Historian they are not reflected in genelines.
Its as though genelines is using cahed data.
Has anyone else seen this

Narrative reports

Is it possible to insert Carriage return symbols into fact sets.
At the moment all events are processed as a new sentence following on one after the other I would like to insert carriage returns to format the layout so that it is easier to read.

Many Thanks
David

FH on PDA

Is it possible to run Family Historian on a PDA or similar palm top device.
If so which is the best for the job.
It would be really useful to be able to carry all of the data around in a small unit

Many Thanks
David
ps I did try a search for pda but nothing came up.

Married two sisters

Thanks for that Marmine.
There was some controversy in the family about it.
They wanted it all hushed up because they thought it was illegal.
The marriages were back in 1855 and 1862.

Ah well you live and learn.

I have an ancestor who married two sisters(at different times) is it legal, was it ever illegal and if so when did it become legal.
I know thats a bit of mouthful but I'm sure you will see what I am getting at.

Installing FH on Laptop

I also use a lap top for travelling and I find windows briefcase very useful for keeping the two sets of data in line. If you network the Laptop and Desktop together. Then create a briefcase on the laptop. And copy your Family tree data into the briefcase. You can then edit either on the laptop with...

Ancestors amp; Descendants Diagram

I agree with Richard it is rather fiddly to get it right. Avoiding page boundries is essential went printing for friends and family. Is there nothing that can be done with the vertical spacing to make it more automatic perhaps in the next update. Setting all the boxes to the same size doesn't produc...

I may be asking too much here but is there any way when creating a website from FH that only the changed pages are created or identified (by created time say) At the moment every page of a site has be transferred whether it is the same as a previous one or not. This may be too difficult but its alwa...

Two addresses for death events

Thats a good question Hannah, the same also applies to births and marriages
I currently have additonal custom fact sets as such Address at death, Address at birth and Address at marriage.
But I would be interested in knowing the best way to record this.

Formatting narrative reports

When creating narrative reports using custom fact sets, is it possible to automatically add a carriage return by inserting a carriage return character in the fact set template.
This would allow better control over the look of the finished report.

Many Thanks

Sorry about that
I have found the details on the help.
I had to export the fact sets and then import on the desk top.
Still this query may help someone with a similar problem

I have been working with family history on my laptop and have created a number of custom fact sets. Is there any chance of having a magnifier on the diagrams like they have on the ancestry census records.
You could then display much more of the tree and yet be able to see the details by moving the magnifier around.
It would be really useful
Many Thanks
