Re: Getting rid of Parallels. What do you use?
I use VirtualBox on my iMac and Crossover on my Macbook Air . I have tried the other flavours of Wine and find the best for FH and AS to be Crossover with PlayOnMac second choice. Which version / licence do you have of CrossOver? I dont want to have to pay a yearly fee for it, but will the one vers...

Re: Getting rid of Parallels. What do you use?
Part of the reason that I am getting rid of Parallels is because I dont want have to have Windows installed, but also I find it very slow to start up etc etc (probably my machine being 5 years old could be a factor too), but I want as little software installed as possible in order to run these 2 pro...

Getting rid of Parallels. What do you use?
I want to get rid of Parallels from my Mac, but not found a replacement for FH and looking for options other than parallels.
FH & Ancestral Sources are the only Windows programmes that I use.
What does everyone else who has a Mac and cant / wont give up FH use?
Thanks

My old program was a little like that too, you could set a default age that after this point would just assume that the person was deceased. Dont forget when uploading to Genes that you will be looking at the tree with your log on and so will see everyone. You really need to access it through someon...

'Mailing list' / Contact details
Morning, Thank you. Something to think about certainly. Up til now I have been using the 'Address' rather than 'Residence' For the people that I have manually added an address to the newly created address tab, it creates a blank Residence event. The format of the Residence event is the same as any o...

'Mailing list' / Contact details
Sorry, another question... Am playing around and learning alot about this. Its brilliant. I am trying to create a family address tab to avoid duplication. I would like to include 2 fields for mobile and 2 for email -just in case each spouse has one, however, when I select the attributes for the husb...

As long as its coming, i dont mind waiting. :) Its just nice to see at a glance all the relevant photos / documents that you hold for an individual all in one place, and if I am honest the gedcom census source citations are the only ones that are created and used for the purpose they were designed. ...

Nick, Is there anyway that Gedcom Census can / will be able to add the select image to the event that gedcom census creates? I know that it adds it to the source citation that is created each time. I would really like it if, when selecting 'all media for selected individual' the relevant census retu...

Relationship 'tree' to another individual
I know at the minute you have the ability to select 2 individuals and it will tell you the relationship between the 2, but what I would find really useful is the ability to select 2 people and have it draw a simplified diagram of the direct link - so straight up from each person to the common ancest...

Thanks for this.
Still doesnt really satisfy my needs though.
Would prefer an actual address tab on the person.
Very long winded as it stands using submitters.

V4 - When?
I am anxiously awaiting the release of version 4. I was on the trial of v3, which I thought i timed right - the 30 day expiry with the release date. I have now been without for weeks now (I can and will wait of course). I think it pointless to buy v3 and upgrade in a few weeks - especially as if cha...

Other events in diagram
Afternoon all, I am currently using the free trial of family historian to see if it meets my needs in terms of tree printing facilities, so far going well. I want to know if there is a way that I can add more events to the diagram view - ie baptism, burial etc. This will be a huge deciding factor as...
