Sync Stand alone to Laptop.

I have a Standalone computer on an internal WIFI network with my laptop. When I enter new data onto Standalone FH I then have to enter this data again on my laptop. Is there any way while both are showing in W iFi that the data can just be entered in one and the other automatically updated ? Thanks ...

But I seem to remember a thread which says the program can run on an Apple. If this is so does it only apple to a 'Full' program. Would partition the apple disc do it or is there now an Apple version ?
Thanks

File Formats

I have large number of pdf files. From another file I see that FH does not support this format. I have 2 options I see (1) to convert all my pdfs into an acceptable format. This doubles my data !!Or to add to Wish List that PDF becomes an acceptable format. I find it strange that a widely accepted f...

Family List by Record ID (1)

Thank you for your kind help. The GED file was imported by me from Australia from my wifes niece. It was not my main FH file only a secondary project. I was not aware that she had just created some names and had no linking on them. Also some files with no parents at all. I left in place now the orig...

Family List by Record ID (1)

It seems to be a morning this morning. This is my second posting !! On the File Stats list copy attached my Lords file shows 84 families. This seemed large so I ran View..Custom queries Family List by Record ID (1). Lo and behold 84 lines to agree above. On the Query printout (as attached) there app...

All Relatives Diagram add additional spouses

I thought I had posted a reply so excuse me if this comes thru twice. The Main All relatives diagram is from a (surname) Lord and shows 4 generations. In the process a Lord in generation 3 married a 'Hadfield' who had offspring naturally as Hadfield (shown on chart)He married a Mary Lees who married...

Revising a GED file for sending to family

Thanks now tried this ...how laborious I have to do this 7 or 8 times. It is no quicker or easir than split file I know many people have commented on whether to create individual projects files rather than one large one. Obviously there is a lot to say for and against both. In hindsight I know now w...

Revising a GED file for sending to family

Thanks all Fine I will use John Owen's solution. It would be nice to use Wish List 160. How simple to create chart and then 'Save as Gedcom' I do realise that this is not a project and that there is no multimedia. Thanks for all the great help as usual I use FH now mainly instead of Roots Magic & FT...

Revising a GED file for sending to family

Thanks Mike and all It seems that I would need to produce 7 or 8 differenr split files..a lot of work. It would be just as easy to produce facsimile files with diferent names and go thru each deleting 1 by one the necessary individuals . It is a pity that this could not be done from a Descendant cha...

Revising a GED file for sending to family

Is there a way ( other than splt tree helper ) of producing a revised GED file. It would be nice to produce a display of all descendants and then 'pulling off' from the chart those descendants that are not required and then saving the result to a GED file. My family is large and there are some feuds...

Family records statistics

Thank you Mike I can now see 9 missing/deleted records showing the difference between Records 436 Stats 436 but 445 numbered sets.
Is there any way of renumbering these so that the gaps are closed ??
Thanks

Family records statistics

The other weird thing if I import the GED file into family treemaker 2012 it lists 426.
Maybe if I import it into Rootsmagic there may be another different count ??
Strange

Sprucing Up The Wishlist

On reinspecting Wish List I find that I cannot get to page 2 of 13. The 'next' click option and also the 'last' click option do not appear to work. This applies both to the top next and the bottom next !!
Is it no longer a proposition to vote on this list ??

Sprucing Up The Wishlist

As a 'Standard' User of FH 5 (and past FH4) and as a part- time genealogist, I feel that many of the discussions here are 'OTT' Over the Top. The average User of FH which I guess is more than 50% requires a good program (which it is) and good reports queries and plug-ins. I am sure if all users vote...

I was contemplating buying a MacPro for Travel as lightweight and small.
