I have found the easiest way of getting the result that I wanted was to Export Gedcom using the Named List query (I didn't need the Media etc, just facts).
I can now Email the PDF Tree and delete the Gedcom afterwards.
Thanks everyone for your help.

Trees an Named Lists
Thanks for the quick response. I'm afraid the procedure didn't work, when Hide Selected Boxes is selected I get the Error Message Cannot Hide Root Person . I have made the Root person one of the people in the Named Mebers List and I have also cleared the File Root and shut down FH and re-started it ...

Trees an Named Lists
I have created a 'Named List' by running several 'All Relatives' queries on different Root people and adding them to the Named List . I now have a list of people that are all generally related. Is there any way that I can create a Tree/Diagram from the Named List ? I have tried inserting trees into ...

Charts pixelate when displayed on CD
Just a quick update. The 'CD' data was produced in no time and worked a treat. The PDF charts worked fine with Zoom & Pan. The recipients use Apple Mac's and start code from the FHUG help page worked first time, just copied and pasted it into Notepad. The daughters new in-laws were thrilled with the...

So what about the Ipad ??
I decided against an Ipad and purchased a Netbook, has hard drive, runs FH and displays everything without any problems, just resized the Focus screen etc. It is slightly larger than an Ipad (26cm x 18cm x 2.5cm or 10in x 7in x 1in), proper keyboard, 6 - 8 hours battery life, 25cm (10in) screen, USB...

Thank you for your help. The zoom & pan controls came up automatically at the bottom RH corner on the PDF in my test CD file. I think that I will save all the charts as PDF's, I have to get the two CD's made by Tuesday, I don't know how long it will take on this Netbook with it's Atom processor. Tha...

I'm using using Google Chrome because IE wouldn't work with FindMyPast on this Netbook, Nick spent some time helping and suggested I use Google Chrome which fixed the problem. The jpg is Pixelated in the Photo Viewer, could it be because I am on a Netbook? the resolution is only 1024 x 600 which is the 'Recommended setting, it is also the maximum.

Thank you both for your replies.
Both the jpg and PDF now open in the web browser. The jpg is still pixelated but the PDF is perfect. I assume that being displayed in the web browser is correct.

I'm In Australia for my daughters wedding and have been printing out all the charts of her future in-laws ancestors, probably 80 A4 sheets, each a family. When I used the CD wizard all was fine until I saved some charts as jpg's and added them to the CD, when displayed and zoomed they are un-readabl...

Time to Spring Clean and De-Clutter?
I always backup to a separate drive, not the PC hard drive. Apart from a large external drive, I backup to a 2.5 inch USB drive and every so often delete the old versions.

Flags/Name Lists in Sources
Thanks for your reply, I already have certain flags displayed on the individual screen, I was after seeing some on the sources screen but there wasn't an option for it or respond to some code I entered. I do have a named list but that didn't display either, but then I wasn't sure it would, no harm i...

Flags/Name Lists in Sources
Is it possible to have a column on the Sources screen to show which Flag or Named List the individual belongs to and the source is linked to.
Or is it not possible because a source may be linked to many individuals.

Tatewise, Thanks for the pointer to the 'Pool' reference, I just looked in the Index and couldn't find it. I have attached a screen shot of my Individual Records screen which show the various family lines that I have set up. If the Pool No.s were used they wouldn't mean anything to me. I wouldn't kn...

Moving a family branch
Tatewise,
I have seen the 'Pool' phrase used in the Forum but I have no idea what they are or where to find them.
They are not in the Help file or in the 'Getting the Most From' book.
I would be interested in knowing what they are and how to access/use them.

Moving a family branch
I was having the same problems as the other members who split their tree into pieces. Having re-combined everyone I have set up 'Family Line' Flags (11 lines plus Unknown Line and Unproven Link). This has proved extremely useful, I display the persons family line in 'Records view', I can get a Stand...

Online databases e.g WVR, Findmypast and Ancestry
I get really annoyed with Ancestry, I enter a location for the search and Ancestry insists on clouding the issue with other location including the USA when I had searched on UK Locations. I stopped using Ancestry 18 months ago and use FindMyPast. Also I find FMP Census transcripts include everyone a...

I just looked for a good battery life (My HP was quoted as 8/9 hours), I get 6+ whilst using WiFi, as many USB ports a possible (mine has 3), I would have liked an HD port to connect to a TV, and a decent Atom processor. Also I made sure I could increase the Ram to 2Gb, cost me £10, the shop took th...
