Orphans

The term 'Orphan' can have many meanings. The genealogical one, whicj is the one you are referring to, is a child that has lost it's parents. The FH query is using the 'Publishing' meaning, that is to say, Persons who are not linked to others in your tree. In the query results window you will see a ...

How related - Married couple

With the how related tool, indirect relationships are not shown if direct ones exist (or at least I've been unable to make it do so). So in my example, a married couple will be shown as that, and nothing more. Or have I missed a tweak?

How related - Married couple

Is there anyway to show how a couple may be indirectly related, as well as being husband and wife? i.e cousins or such by marriage.

Within the Family History Projects folder, each project has it's own folder, which is waht you want. Within each project you can choose to copy images to the project folder or just link to your own storage area. Personally, I copy to the projects folder. Backup of all projects can the be achieved by...

spouse incorrrect name in census autotext

I have also had the reverse happen, where I have known the marriage date, and am working backwards through census. AS has flagged a person as married even though the census date was before the marriage date. I have also had my problem where the marriage date has been entered, it just happens more of...

Census entry, move change field on tab

I usually use tab to change fields when entering census fields. I choose source from drop down list, then tab to place field, tab to address field, when I press tab again it should change to Ref ID field. It does this sometimes, but more often the cursor just dissappears, and I have to click with th...

spouse incorrrect name in census autotext

I had this problem in gedcom census as well as AS 1 and now AS2. Entering a Census where the husband is not present, the auto text gives the spouse the maiden surname, not married surname, although picks up the marriage correctly. I think this mainly occurs when no marriage fact has been entered for...

Exiting Wish list

Am I missin something? When I go to look at the wish list, all other navigation options dissappear, so when I have finished in the wish List, the only way out is either to Backup to the main page, or close the window and start again http://www.fhug.rjt.org.uk/images/uploads/FHUG_Wish_List.jpg ID:5350

If , Like me, you run FH on different computers at different times of day depending on where you are. I found Microsoft synctoy to synchronise my files, I set one folder pair as the Project folder, with the other as the project folder on a pen drive (or another computer on the same network) and crea...

Wish List for New Version

The records I was thinking of are the US interim census for 1905, 1915 etc.
Also ability to record age in years and months would be nice.
Sounds like the new version will be even better than the current by a long way.
Thanks

Gedview is editable, but not very easy to export from (and not very intuitive to import to either). However it is also possible (Although I've not tried it yet) to export only data changed after a specific date. So it would seem to be easy enough to export your changes trhen merge back into your ori...
