Trees an Named Lists

Mike will probably be able to help better on this, but because the root person is in the named list, and they are the ones you want to show, then you need to invert the query, to only mark those in the list.
On second thoughts, mark all first, then unmark those in the named list.
Then hide marked

Census place

Very true,
I hadn't thought of that. However, I did put England in all my entries to start with. I used the search and replace to remove United kingdom from the end of each place

AS Marriage Template

For AS (and for that matter FH) to show your image it must be saved as a jpeg image.
There are free converters available that can convert your pdf's to jpeg, but I would advise scanning as jpeg in future

Show tips on startup

Can anyone else get this to happen. I have usually had the tips at startup switched off. However, when I updated to V5, decided to switch it back on again. I went to tips, ticked the 'show at startup' option, saved my file and exited. When I restart FH. No tips. Go to tips and the show at startup op...

When you are only opening a gedcom, the only backup that will work is Small (Backup Gedcom) because there is no project structure to backup. The Medium and Large Backups should (and do on mine) work on your projects on a project by project basis. If you want to back everything up as one item, then e...

Saving Options

From your initial post, it looks like you are just opening a gedcom & not a project, thus the medium and full backups wouldn't be a valid option. This could be why it is failing.
Can you please confirm whether you are using a project or just opening a gedcom file.

custom diagram as default not being saved

I have modified the custom 'All relatives' diagram that I always use, and saved it with a new name. I view an individual, using {View} {Custom Diagram} then right click, choose diagram options, tick save as default and apply (or OK). I then go to the menu item {Diagram - Settings - Save as default s...

Backup & Restore FH Settings.

Noting that a few plugins had changed, I ran Jane's Check against store plugin.
3 Plugins were updated, but backup & restore is now shwn as 'Not in Store'.

A manual brows of the store, does indeed show, that the plugin seems to have disappeared.

Challenging Expression

Thanks Mike, I had a go myself, and had something similar, but i must have been making a syntax error somewhere, because I kept getting 'Invalid Expression'.
