Because you added your father to his father, he is seen as a sibling and ignored by the plugin.
If you enter your 3 generations totally separate from there originals, they should be picked up.

Uploading GEDCOM to Ancestry
Uploading via WiFi could have caused a time out error.
Cable connection to your router is at 100Mb/s wheras wireless connection is only (usually) at about 2Mb/s, 50x slower.
In normal use this would not matter, but does when it comes to transferring large files.

Installation to a disk other than C:
The important thing is to tell Windows to move MY Documents to a new location. Once that is done, ALL programs which use MY documents as a default location (Including FH & Dropbox) will automatically know where your files are. In this sense you are Not moving the dropbox folder, It is still in My Do...

As I said, I MOVED the entire My Documents folder to Drive D. It cannot be done in the normal way though. There is a specific way to do it, so that windows correctly recognises your new default location of My documents. If this is done correctly, then dropbox will synchronise correctly. MIKE: Is it ...

If you go into documents and settings then Documents and right click on the folder, you can then move the whole of My documents (including Dropbox) to another place (ie D) of your choice.
I am unsure of the exact paths, which depend on which version of windows you are using.

Jane,
How would I use your expression in a query to find multiple births, so that I can check that they are correct?

Mike, I have run vers 1.7 on an older copy of my file (Before I started using the duplicates plugin) and am currently working through the data to compile a spreadsheet for you. Yes I agree with that, but you add a person by choosing the individual, and then clicking on 'Select'. By clicking on 'Save', you are Confirming them into the list, as you are after an edit. I agree that the title 'Save' is confusing, as I have also clicked on this to save the whole entry and got th...

I think 'Confirm' would be better, as you don't use the button to Add.

I'm still getiing quite a lot of 'Matches' with the same fornames but different Surnames and born in different places. However the highest score I've got for anyone with 1.7 was 50 and most only score about 20 or lower. I had one genuine duplicate with identical names, and DOB within 1 year, that on...

Now that we have plugins creating result sets, I would like the option to save the created result set as a result set that can be worked on at a later date. With Mike Tate's plugin to find possible duplicates, the result set generated is pairs of individuals. If you add to a named list, yes you have...

Don't forget that just because you can't find a marriage, doesn't mean that the baptism is incorrect. The GRO indexes may be incorrect or incomplete, and records for some areas are also incomplete. Local record offices, or OPC (online Parish Clerk) as well as sites like UKBMD.org offer searches that...

That is correct.
Mike's plugin is a 'Work In Progress' and as such, will not appear in the store until finalised and approved.

Make a copy of Both Files, then try to Merge the two files. FH should find the common areas by itself, but you will need to allow plenty of time to check the matches (and mismatches). Hi Mike,
A lot of my false positives are where the Forenames are the same, and birth year (but not place (one is Andreas, Isle of Man, the other is Malew, Isle of Man)), but the surnames are not even close (such as John James Teare and James John Clucas).

Find Duplicate Individuals
Just ran 1.2 on my W7 machine.
Just over 14 mins for 29,816 individuals.
I think there does need to be some method of marking pairs that have already been checked and found to be not duplicates, as I'm starting to get a static top 12
