Re: Problem with Lookup Missing Census Facts
It was last web browser page I meant. I agree each search has it's own tab on chrome until you shut down or change computers. Is it possible to include Isle of Man in the UK searches? 30% of my individuals are from the Isle of Man, and about 5% of those have emigration events. The Manx can be found ...

Re: Problem with Lookup Missing Census Facts
Mike,
The plugin now does not seem to allow for the fact that as far as UK census is concerned, the Isle of Man is part of UK (If the use facts option is selected).
Also, would it be possible to have a button to retrieve the last search/results page. I know where to find it, but others may not.

Re: Recording GRO Index Birth/Death sources
Roman Catholic Registers mostly give the DOB as well as baptism, also mother's maiden name. Some may even contain details of a later marriage crammed into the space underneath. If there is a discrepancy between birth certificate and baptism birth record, I tend to use the baptism record. These discr...

Re: Copy & Paste from Onenote into Family Historian notes
I have occasionally had the problem where the computer's clipboard became disabled, so it was impossible to copy and paste any text from anywhere to any where. (Apart from copy and paste of sources or events, which use FH's own clipboard). This was usually cured by turning said computer off and on a...

William Shelley (bn1794) has somehow been linked as a child of John Shelley (Bn 1884).
Select William Shelley (Bn 1794) and then select <Edit> - <Unlink from> - <Parents>

Re: Transfer gedcom from free trial to purchased v6.2 on another laptopp
If you bought the full version of FH 6, you can also use the same serial number to "Activate" the free trial version to full status (You can have FH on 2 devices) , which will also mean that plugins can be run.

I have discovered that the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update will break any symbolic links that have been set up. It has done so on all of my computers.
After the update the links need to be recreated.

Another method, is to select one of the parents records and press "F9" on your keyboard. The performs the sort out of order facts for just that person, and sorts the children into birth order.

The Thumbcache.dat can be ignored during backup, it can even be safely deleted, as it will be rebuilt everytime FH is opened.

Re: Select Source
The order that sources are displayed when adding a source to a fact is governed by the sort order on the source record tab. At some point you must have sorted that tab on ID order. Just go to the Sources tab and click on the name column to sort in alpha order.

Re: How we are all descended from Royalty
To re-enforce Mikes point about Birthdays. A slightly amusing incident. When I was on my first year of an Electrical and Electronic Engineering Degree Course, one of the subjects that we had to take was Statistics. The lecturer wanted to demonstrate the birhday statistic (They were 40 of us in the c...

It depends on which page the family starts on as to how Ancestry label it.

Re: Autosave and saving
I stopped using Google drive because of the same problem.
Google Drive "Locks" the file while it is updating the cloud version, so you cannot save while that is happening.
If it is a large project, this could take 10-15 minutes.

Re: File Naming Convention
In the example you gave I would use that as the source title, but my media title would be:
"Marriage 1915 Kelvin - David Rountree & Margaret Lamond" if it were a certificate
If the image was of a Register page (either 2 or 4 marriages) I would use
"Marriage 1915 Kelvin - (Page No)"

Re: File Naming Convention
Your media name can be as long and complicated as you like. But you may run into problems if the filename itself is too long (Especially if you use dropbox and the like for file syncing)
