I have seen others report that the Reference number was removed after they paid to unlock the image. I can still see the reference numbers in the preview using Firefox. I plan to log all the reference numbers as I find them.

Re: Using Clooz with Family Historian (Legacy import)
Just wanted to post a note that Joe has released a new version of Clooz which now will export to Family Historian. However, since I've been squandering huge amounts of time gathering more source material and taking webinars instead of actually entering any of my data, I still haven't learned Clooz p...

Re: Using the clergy field
At the moment, I am using Associated Persons to link the appropriate clergy to the parishioners. But I wonder if a Named List of Clergy People in Family Historian might help you pop up a list of candidates, even if you have to switch away from AS for a moment to use it? I cross-check the clergy in m...

Re: Rootsweb FHU Mailing List problems
Just a quick update -- Simon did say that there had been a problem with people getting un-subscribed from the list. I had been getting the list in Digest form, but to better cope with the spamming, I have switched to getting the messages in the ordinary list form. This allows me to delete the offend...

Re: Brother's Keeper new subscriber
Ouch. I am a long-time researcher, and all that time I have kept upgrading BK. When (and if) I get up to speed with FH, probably it would be my intention to keep BK, at no cost, in reserve, but not adding to it. These days I am entering very few new names. I am anticipating that FH will be much bet...

Re: 1939 Register on Find My Past
I forgot to mentio that I have created a new template on Ancestral Sources and am happy with the way it works. Thanks very much for sharing this, Irene, and thanks to Mike for his efforts, too. I don't know how soon I'll be needing the template for AS, because the people I'm most interested in find...

Re: 1939 Register on Find My Past
Some thoughts on the 1939 Register so far -- I have received three discount codes so far -- one at 25% from Find My Past since I am a subscriber, and two at 10% for signing up to get news about the Register, and as a subscriber to the Lost Cousins newsletter. If you are looking for a way to reduce t...

Re: Knowledge Base Links to Forums
I do get that Stack Exchange has a particular way of handling its postings, and voting on answers is a novel technique, but in the genealogy domain where Forums are probably more focussed is it really that different? Mike -- Apologies for the very tardy reply to your question from earlier this year...

Re: Find My Past introduces record hints
After a bit of computer trouble, I've gone back to working with the FMP tree hints. Part of the difficulties I had were caused by my not realizing how to add something to the tree as alternate information, but after watching the webinar I'll give that feature a try. The main difficulty I see now is ...

During the past week or so, I have joined the Facebook group dedicated to the discussion of the Genealogy Do-Over. I've been participating more on social media lately, and I've talking about the new release of FH6 on Twitter, Google+, and Facebook. Re: Find My Past introduces record hints
Phil -- I'm impressed! I have found quite a few records on Find My Past, but I haven't attached them all yet because the tree system is new, and I was using FMP before on a 1-month sub. (The major records found elsewhere are from the National Probate Calendar -- I would love to see this record group...

Hello, Phil, and welcome to FHUG! It's early days on the hints yet, since I've barely started filling in a tree. Hi, Joe! I really appreciate your taking the time to come here and join the discussion. Part of the problem with learning to use Clooz is that I'm trying to learn too many things at once. More and more, I'm liking GenQuiry, but of course that won't help you on the iPad. Re: Using Clooz with Family Historian (Legacy import)
Thanks for your reply. Given some of the reviews I've seen of the newest version of Legacy, I don't have confidence in Legacy's GEDCOM export, so I guess I'll wait it out. I often research families of neighbors and business associates, so I can use some of this data to experiment with Clooz. At the ...

Howdy, neighbor! Another NorCal user here. One thing that puzzles me is how the "Label" and "Abbreviation" fields are intended to be used in the Fact Definition screen. My suggestion: take a look at the existing facts, or create one fact as a test vehicle, and play around with the definition to see ...
